    SPOCOM 2013

SPOCOM 2013, we were suppose to have a booth and quite a bit of our guys were going to show their cars. Unfortunately, vendor space was sold out and we were not able to display our booth. We decided to not show our cars and just went to check it out.

    IMG_7206

What I noticed about this show is that the spacing was kinda weird. Some cars had tons of space for cool photos and others were bundled together.

    IMG_7208

Good thing this expensive R8 was given room to breathe.

    IMG_7210

    Ojay’s boss Previa.

    IMG_7212

    Carl’s Aimgain IS250. Straight $$$.

    IMG_7214

Here are the cars bundled that were bundled up together. I guess they were all apart of Team Hybrid, so this was their area.

    IMG_7215

Never really liked the carbon fiber look, still don’t. I just took this photo because of the sweet Work XD9’s that my friend Peter use to own.

SPOCOM also had some bikes on display. I didn’t really know the extent of how you can modify a motor cycle. These guys take it pretty far.

Straight off the dealership and lowered with some Five Axis wheels. The more I see the new IS250, the more I start to like it. The aggressive front end angers your eyes at first, but after a while you just start appreciating the lines on the front bumper.

  • Fast Autoworks

    Fast Autoworks

The last stop on this all-day car meet was Fast Autoworks, where they had a BBQ full of bomb Asian food. If there’s free food, you’ll know where I’ll be. We took a caravan of 10 cars to Fast Autoworks, so the street was filled with modified cars, just like the one scene in Fast and Furious where they had lunch at Dom’s house and the white guy gave thanks for turbos, etc.  Anyways, on to the photos…

  • LTMW 2013 Meet

    LTMW 2013 Meet

It was one of those days where all I wanted to do was check out cars all day long. I decided the night before that I would go to all the car meets on Saturday which included Cars and Coffee in Irvine, LTMW in El Monte, and Fast Autoworks in Arcadia. I met up with Dat at Cars and Coffee because he planned to drive the Fatlace FRS to all the meets. Since he planned to go to the LTMW meet after, we caravanned to Charles’ house where everyone met up before the LTMW meet.

  • White & White

    White & White

We were out in Las Vegas, Nevada for the end of the SEMA show at the Las Vegas Convention Center. After we were done with SEMA, we had some time to chill with our friends out there like usual and shoot the cars for a bit. It had been a while since I made a video and got my hands on a new crane, so it was a fun way to learn some new things while filming. Nevertheless, I especially liked this shoot because both these cars were running new setups; be it new wheels or new lip kits. Check out Minh Nguyen’s Lexus IS250 and Keith Cheng’s Honda Accord.

Royal Origin – White Power from Shavi Wijegunaratne on Vimeo.

I also had some time to take some pictures, something I rarely do, but have gotten into playing around with my photo skills these days.

Minh still rocking the Junction Produce Scara wheels, but now with a new lip kit. Looks mighty fine.

Keith recently got a much needed firmware update on his wheel setup; it’s been outdated since 2010. Now updated to Work VS-KF wheels.

    PEACE BE WITH YOU.

  • See Ya Later…

    See Ya Later…

The part I hate most about our out-of-state friends visiting us, is saying goodbye. All good things come to an end and even though we will for sure see them in the near future, it’s always sad when they leave.  We started out the day with the obligatory all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ at Cham Sut Gol.

    Sizzlin’ brisket.

The best part about eating at Cham Sut Gol is the free thrifty ice cream.

Afterwards, we rolled out to meet up with Nimo and the IE guys for a photo shoot in Anaheim Hills.

     Love watching the sun kiss…

     Ryan’s gangster GTI.

This is the first thing Nimo does when he sees me…

     Vuzoku.

Figuring out how to ride this contraption.

Vu’s Miata with his brand new Work Meister CR-01.

    Looks perfect on his car.

     Ryan’s GTI on 3SDM.

     Nimo test driving the Sunkist.

He looks pretty good in it.

     Jeff and Kentaro.

Jeff giving all of these cars a blessing. WARNING: The next couple of photos might give you a small glimpse of heaven.

A better photo of Vu’s Miata. So clear…

     IE guys.

Yoshi rockin’ the Hella Flush Japan shirt.

     A photo within a photo.

     Black reflections.

     Sun kiss me.

     INSTAGRAM CREW.

Good times hanging out with the Vegas crew. It’s never a goodbye for us, it’s always a see ya later. We’ll reunite again at Formula D Irwindale!

    StanceWorks | Avila Invitational

The boys & I went on a road trip to check out StanceWorks Avila Invitational. We wanted to see cars we usually don’t see and enjoy some scenery. The day started at 4:30A.M. with 5 hour energy drinks and hot cheetos.

Gassing up before the longass 4-hour drive.

I rode along with Derek; he drove this low with a packed car, which actually helped with the stiff ride. It was super bouncy, but I still managed to take a nap.

  • Royal Flush Meet

    Royal Flush Meet

We had the chance to attend the Royal Flush Meet that is hosted every month at Ray Ray’s Restaurant. I rolled up with Vinh, Angelo, and the broads. We had heard that this meet has only the best VIP cars around the area. We kind of came late, so most of the cars that I expected to be there were already leaving as we walked over to the plaza. The meet still did not disappoint; there were still some good-looking cars such as  Ojay’s LS400.

  • Heather Truong for Royal Origin

    Heather Truong for Royal Origin

Sweat ran down my fingers as I gripped a hold of my Mark 2. Today would be my first time ever shooting a live model without someone guiding me. It was nerve-racking, waiting to meet up with her, like going on a first date without the dinner and movie. We still had to get to know each other and see what kind of style of photography we are comfortable with. As the photographer, I quickly had to learn what to focus on in the model. I was afraid that I would not be able to recognize and highlight the features that bring out the beauty in her. My first model shoot was with Heather Truong. I met her a couple of years ago through mutual friends and one of the many cool things about Heather is that she is genuinely into cars. We talked a bit over the internet and she was down for a shoot. Decided to meet at Tastea and talk about what we were going to do. While we were there, I spotted Polo’s NSX from IMKING.
