SEMA 2021 PART TWO | Event Coverage

We’re back with part two of SEMA 2021 coverage, I didn’t plan on coming back to SEMA for day 2, but I was picked up by Miguel to hang out. When he said he wanted to hang out, I didn’t think he meant at SEMA.

Coming down the escalators, we got to see the Hoonigan burnout pit in action.

I was fanboying for a moment when I realized it was owned by Daniel Wu from the Badlands. I’m really sad that they cancelled the show, it was supposed to be a modern take on the chinese saga, “The Monkey King” series.

Toyama Living | RO Explore

I’ve been to Toyama many times, but I’ve never been here with Ryo. When we decided to go to Japan during golden week, Ryo offered us a place to stay in his hometown of Toyama. We didn’t want to miss the chance to live in the countryside for a couple of days and see the life of the Lowballers Japan.

Masao bought this Verosa for like dirt cheap. I think it was $500 because the owner thought it had a transmission problem. It ended up being an easy fix and now he has a 1jz equipped vehicle for $500.

Ryo’s Lexon GS430, so cool to see this thing roaming the streets of Toyama.

We made our way to a okonomiyaki(Japanese pancake) place where you make it on your own. This place is kind of like a Denny’s to the locals.

We slept over at Ryo’s parents spare house and it had a legit Hawaii theme throughout the house.

Woke up to Ryo starting up his Integra that he hasn’t seen in months. It still looks super clean.

We wanted to get some photos in before the day started of both of Ryo’s cars.

We met up with Hiroki and they took us to this amazing park with a river going through it.

This was rated one of the most beautiful Starbucks in the world. I’ve never seen such a long line for Starbucks before.

This was rated as one of the most beautiful friendships in the world.

For lunch, we went to a curry spot that is famous in Toyama.

I shit you not, this was the best curry I have ever had in my entire life. Seriously perfect in every way! I am literally drooling looking at this picture.

Next stop was Super Autobacs, we wanted to go to an Up Garage, but all of stores were closed for Golden Week. I don’t even know what kind of car this is.

For dinner, we got sushi and for the longest time Ryo has always said the sushi is the best in Toyama. He was not wrong.

We ended the night, Initial D style by going up the mountains, looking over the city and talking about fuck bugs.

Thank you Ryo, Masao and Hiroki for the hospitality! I can’t wait to come back to have more curry!

Beckystuff | Photo Shoots

We got new merch for Royal Origin/HOODRATstuff and we needed new photos for the site. I was able to convince Becky to shoot with us again, but first we had to stuff our bellys.

Japan Again Part 4 | RO Explore

There has been one thing I have never done in all my years of going to Japan and it’s the Mario Cart tour. It’s a tour of the city, but you get to drive a go cart and dress like your favorite Mario Cart characters.

Abbitt chose the closest thing to his spirit animal.

We had a ton of fun driving around Tokyo and I would definitely recommend going on these tours as it is a great way to see the city.

After the tour, we split up from Abbitt and Krstina and went to Akihabara to check out some anime and sex shops for my wife. I only came to try this gyukatsu, which was fucking delicious.

Went back to Shibuya to explore some more and hopefully get some shopping in. I got the opportunity to show Julia my favorite spot in Tokyo. This is the entrance to the mall of my favorite roof top Starbucks.

This out door patio is so legit and romantic. I’m glad I got to take Julia here.

Find us in Harajuku.

We decided to regroup with Krstina and Abbitt for dinner at a pasta spot. Because Japanese pasta is so good. That is all.

Julia about to dive into some bomb carbonara. I’m about to dive into it too because I know she doesn’t finish her food.

The owner of the restaurant also made us some smores for dessert.

Woke up early on our last day to get some breakfast and get the last bit of Japan. The morning commute in Tokyo looks crazy.

Went to Cafe De Luca for pastries and coffee.

We ran into the guy that walks his cats every morning in Harajuku. All the cats looked dead af.

Tried a little snack at Harajuku Gyoza. Bomb and quick.

We said our goodbyes and I took Julia to try the last place to get good sushi at Narita Airport. The toro here is so on point and delicious.

714 Tires | Shop Life

I got some sweet stuff from NRG thanks to Jason and decided to post some photos of the install. I had the guys over at 714 Tires do the install because they knew how to wire the horn button.

NRG quick release in silver looks so good.

Decided to use the Trust steering wheel I bought on my first trip to Japan.

It took 5 different people to do this install..

Thuong ended up wiring the horn. Should’ve asked him in the first place.

Meanwhile a wide body IS rolls up for an alignment.

Also spotted this Civic that had a HOODRATstuff plate frame. Thanks for the support!

Took some photos of Max’s hardbody so he has photos to send to the junkyard that’s going to pick it up.

90’s forever.

Ashton brought the E36 over to get some suspension parts installed and an alignment.

I’m excited for this car to be done! This will be so sick when it’s all red.

Had to jack it up with our trolley jacks to get it on the lift.

Neglected.

Japan Again Part 3 | RO Explore

This past Japan trip I wanted to show my wife everything I have ever experienced from my past 7 trips to Japan and that meant I would need to condense 7 Japan trips into one week. We took the earliest train from Tokyo to Hiroshima so we could visit the Hiroshima Memorial Museum and be able to get dinner in Osaka.

Convenience store food is still the best thing about Japan.

I really like public transportation in Japan and the architecture at small train stations.

Hiroshima Memorial Museum. I decided I didn’t want to experience the sadness of the memorial museum again and opted to go explore around the area while the rest went to the museum.

Very relaxing and mellow mood around this area. Also loved the cherry blossoms everywhere.

Always a good time for some green tea soft serve.

After the museum, we headed back up north to Osaka and spotted this cross dresser with manlier legs than me.

I love capturing photos of people just going about their business here. I’m kind of a creep..

We got settled in our little apartment before heading out to explore Osaka. Damn this place was condensed.

Coffee trip 123109238 for Abbitt. Abbitt’s blood is mostly caffeine.

Spotted this Civic running a muck inside the small streets of Dotonburi.

Dotonburi for one of the best street food Osaka has to offer.

Everyone knocked the fuck out, except this American.

The next morning we went to Kyoto to check out the old architecture of Gion City.

Next on the list was the Inari Shrine, I’ve been to this place almost on every trip to Japan. This place still puts me in awe whenever I visit.

This lady was pushing her Shiba around in a stroller, so awesome.

The street food at the Inari Shrine is so good and affordable. Check out how much Yakisoba you can get for 400 yen.

Abbitt dying of food coma and decided to lay down while we wait for our train.

I love finding gems like this BMW wagon on SSRs on the way to dinner.

I found this place on Trip Advisor and I really wanted to check it out because the ramen is literally fire.

No ramen no life.

Made it back to Tokyo and met up with Ryo and this girl he’s trying to get at for dinner. Super cute couple.

Krstina was trying to say his friend was cute by saying she was “kawaii”, but Krstina was pronouncing it “Kowaii” which means scary. So she was confused the whole night why this girl was calling me scary.

Kiki’s Cars | Daily Life

The bosses over at 714 Tires recently purchased a Ferrari 360 and since I had to pick one of them up for work the next day he let me use the Ferrari for one night. The Ferrari was an impulse buy because it was so cheap, but now all it does is sit in the garage at 714 Tires.

A Wide Body Comes From Cakes | Night Hangs

Phat signaled the crew to come out and help him finish his kit and as the good homies we were, we came late and he was already almost done. Phat had his Cayman on hiatus as he was prepping the car for a flare wide body and some new wheels.

How many guys does it take to install a spoiler?

The answer is 7.

After that fiasco, we went back to the cars and just talked about how to get hookers in Rosarito. The person that started this conversation is the owner of this Cressida.
