    Unusual Underground

Welcome to the GG Underground, a place for Royal Origin and friends to go to when we want to relax after enjoying a day with each other, and just want to shoot some cars to end the night. We met up with Chris Foreman and his friends from Ladera Ranch, and Jomar and Josh from Temecula/Murrieta at our favorite place, Tastea, before heading to our late night spot. Check out my video below and our pictures from that night.

CRZ surprisingly had enough room in the trunk for two people to play cards in it.

  • Thank You Lauren!

    Thank You Lauren!

Hey guys! Let me start off by introducing myself. I am Jimmy Lieu, and I drive the black 8thgen Civic Coupe!   I recently shot my friend Lauren’s EJ8 coupe because SHE planned on raising her car, after commuting to school with it looking like this for a few years. As you are reading this, she has already raised the car up and put stock hubcaps back on. I just had to share this with you guys because it has barely gotten any recognition, and of all people, I think Lauren deserves it. She has helped me and a couple of members of Royal Origin get our cars to where it is now by getting us the parts we needed! Thanks Lauren!

Lauren swapped out her taillights to the 99′ tails for a cleaner look without the ambers.

    Formula Drift: Long Beach 2012

Finally, the Formula Drift season was here! I was getting bored of going to car meets and shows, seeing the same thing over and over. I really wanted to do some motor sports kind of photography. This year, there were many new sights at FD, such as the Scion FRS that Ken Gushi drove, and Daigo Saito from D1GP competed and brought his Lexus SC430 mated with 3.4 liter Brian Crower stroker 2JZ-GTE. There was an in-car video on youtube of Daigo driving it on practice day and it sounded insane. Got me super excited to witness the monster in action. As soon as I arrived at the parking structure, I could smell the burning rubber and hear the screech of tires drifting. It got me giddier than a high school girl who just got  asked to the prom.

Saw the Megan-racing AE86 on the way to the entrance.

    A Royal Adventure

Keith Cheng aka Keychain here, and this is my first post ever on Royal Origin. I am usually blogging and taking pictures for It’s JDM Yo, but I am here to share with  you our Las Vegas adventure through Jeff and my eyes.

A few rolling shots on our way to Las Vegas.

  • The Anniversary

    The Anniversary

After a delicious breakfast at BabyStacks Cafe, some of us headed over to Chivas’ place to get some of the cars cleaned up and to relax for a bit before the meet.

David, Chivas, and Nimo…probably checking Instagram.

  • BabyStacks Cafe

    BabyStacks Cafe

During our trip in Vegas, the Royal Origin and Lowballers fam wanted to gather up for some breakfast. We planned the night before that we would go BabyStacks Cafe, previously known as BabyCakes. Well actually, we had pretty much made it a plan to go to BabyStacks way before the Vegas trip. This was my first time (Vinh) in Las Vegas with everyone, so I was probably the only one who hasn’t had the opportunity to enjoy their bomb breakfast foods. Everyone always talked about how awesome their red velvet pancakes are. I had some pretty high expectations coming in for breakfast and I wasn’t disappointed one bit. It was amazingly life changing; I will never look at ordinary pancakes the same. A must-have if you’re ever in the area. Haha, sorry for my Yelp Review, now let’s see some photos.

Everyone starting to show up at BabyStacks.

  • Days Before the Meet

    Days Before the Meet

We couldn’t contain our excitement of going to Vegas and seeing our most favorite people in the world, so Jeff, David, Jennifer, and I decided to go a day earlier than the others to be able to bask in the Vegas morning. The route to Vegas was pretty shitty for slammed cars; everyone who rode in a lowered car could attest to this. Good thing we went late at night because Jennifer was swerving left and right when we hit the construction parts on the 15. Got to see a crew of modded cars rolling pass us, who also showed up at the meet! On the next morning, Friday, we went to go eat at Sushi Bomb; David always raves about this place and how amazing the Volcano Roll is.

David and Jeff, the happy couple. Jeff only looks sad because he didn’t get his morning wood taken care of by David before going to Sushi Bomb.

  • Journey to Vegas

    Journey to Vegas

For the Low Ballers x Royal Origin 2 Year Anniversary, the Royal Origin gang made a trip to Las Vegas, Nevada to hang out with our lovers, the Lowballers. We basically had three separate caravans going on. Some of us left Thursday evening, some left Friday morning (including myself), and the rest left Friday afternoon. I was pretty bummed out that I wasn’t able to bring my car; I had just gotten it back from the shop after some expensiveass electrical issues. I was trying to get it ready, but there wasn’t enough time to prepare. Oh well, enough of my venting and onto some pictures…

    Instagram noob. Follow him @jimmylieu.

Just chillen on the side of the freeway.

  • Vegas Visitation Ikea

    Vegas Visitation Ikea

Chivas and Christine came down from Vegas to visit us and shop at IKEA for some furniture. We took them to a local joint for breakfast, and decided on Omelette House. I also got to test out my 5D Mark 2. Coming out of the house, I just had to stop and test out the Mark 2 on my SC. Photos came out way better than I expected; I definitely see the improvement of image quality compared to my D7000.

  • Long Awaited Sticker Release

    Long Awaited Sticker Release

After a very long wait, Royal Origin is back with two new sticker releases. We are proud to present “The Crown Part II” and “The OG HOODRATstuff.” Both of these stickers will be available in our online store along with our other stickers.

    Royal Origin Store : http://RoyalOrigin.bigcartel.com/

The first of the two stickers is “The OG HOODRATstuff.” We hold this sticker design in particular near and dear to our hearts because this is the sticker that started it all for Royal Origin. This originally started off as just for members, but we soon moved over to our current design for members. In honor of our 2-year anniversary, we have decided to release “The OG HOODRATstuff” design to all of our fans. We want to keep this simple and authentic, so this will only be available in white, 11 inches by 3 inches.
