    OMW. #throwback

The last weekend of March, usually involving the 31st, is a weekend I look forward to every year. Besides it being my birthday weekend, it also usually is the weekend when the whole gang takes a trip out to Las Vegas. This year, we decided to do it big and throw a meet at a dealership. With the help of Chivas and Findlay Fiat, we were able to throw a legit meet for all our fans. We met up early in the morning to caravan because we had a huge amount of cars this year rolling with us to Vegas. I was a stickler on time this year because I didn’t want to take the whole day to get there like the previous years.

    IMG_8433

Nimo, leading the way to Vegas.

    IMG_8546

Random guy rolling with us to Vegas.

    IMG_8451

Randy Goco, getting some rolling shots.

    IMG_8829-2

This car goes everywhere. DGAF life.

    IMG_8481

Check out the racing stripes on the front part of the side skirt.

    IMG_8819

Nimo was able to hit 150 mph on the way to Vegas. Vertex aerodynamics and being slammed helped a little.

    IMG_8816

Spotted this rat rod, also on the way to Las Vegas. That weekend was also the annual Rockabilly weekend with classic cars, rat rods, and hot pin-up girls.

    IMG_8811

Ashton, the newest member of the crew. He was jumped in before we left to Vegas.

    IMG_8790

Double rolling shot, what does it mean?

    IMG_8740

Jeff always looks like he’s napping when he drives long distances.

    IMG_8688

Jerald also made the trek out to Vegas with us.

    IMG_8678

Gautam’s loudass M5, surprisingly, didn’t get us pulled over.

    IMG_8646

Tucker, riding aired up to the fucking max. His compressor went out on the way, so he couldn’t air down.

    IMG_8636

Driving to Vegas is nothing to Keith now. He’s gone back and forth almost weekly.

    IMG_8588

Adam, riding dumped even when on bags.

    IMG_8839

Amazingly, we got to Vegas in only 3 hours with 30+ people and 15 cars. Neel, with his new set of Work Rezaxs.

    IMG_8867

The last time Ashton was in Vegas with us, he had an IS300.

    IMG_8866

    IMG_8863

John, running on Filipino time, finally caught up with us.

    IMG_8859

Ryan’s murdered out GTI. Looks real cool.

    IMG_8858

First time seeing Rocky’s bagged look. He’s working on getting the front’s lower and then he’ll be satisfied.

    IMG_8855

    Famous Accords.

    IMG_8847

    White is right.

    IMG_8845

Once you go black, you come back in a wheelchair.

    Yoshi’s race car.

    IMG_8841

    BMW x Subaru sandwich.

    IMG_8870

    Where the fuck is WEI?

    IMG_8871

    IMG_8873

    IS brothers.

    IMG_8872

Ted Olsen met us up at our hotel to caravan to Gerald’s house.

    IMG_8875

Causing traffic, breaking necks, and making hella wrecks.

    IMG_8885

It’s been a long time since I saw the rootbeerdc2. Quenched my thirst for sure.

    IMG_8888

    Rootbeer VIP looking swell.

    IMG_8887

    Keyser’s clean MR2 on Work XD9’s.

    IMG_8911

Went with Chivas early to Findlay Fiat to get some last minute preparations in.

    IMG_8903

    Sunkist.

    IMG_8913

The sun is kissing the engine bay.

    IMG_8905

Nimo did a suicide trip and was leaving for home right after the meet.

    IMG_8907

The Abarth, a pretty quick car. One of the salesmen did a burnout in it when he moved it.

    IMG_8916

This is all you’re getting for now. Check back for the meet coverage!

  • Fast Autoworks

    Fast Autoworks

The last stop on this all-day car meet was Fast Autoworks, where they had a BBQ full of bomb Asian food. If there’s free food, you’ll know where I’ll be. We took a caravan of 10 cars to Fast Autoworks, so the street was filled with modified cars, just like the one scene in Fast and Furious where they had lunch at Dom’s house and the white guy gave thanks for turbos, etc.  Anyways, on to the photos…

    IMG_9342

Pat’s IS-F. He lives near me but I only see him when I go to farass places.

    IMG_9299

Tracked out 8th Gen Civics are so cool.

    IMG_9297

Mike Kim, from Motormavens, stopped by to kick it. If you spell his name backwards it’s Mike Kim again! Amazing.

  • LTMW 2013 Meet

    LTMW 2013 Meet

It was one of those days where all I wanted to do was check out cars all day long. I decided the night before that I would go to all the car meets on Saturday which included Cars and Coffee in Irvine, LTMW in El Monte, and Fast Autoworks in Arcadia. I met up with Dat at Cars and Coffee because he planned to drive the Fatlace FRS to all the meets. Since he planned to go to the LTMW meet after, we caravanned to Charles’ house where everyone met up before the LTMW meet.

    IMG_9159

    IMG_9155

Gautam and Marc met up at Charles’ house too. Note that all three beemers have mesh wheels. It’s going to be a common theme throughout the post.

All Marc needs is a front lip to set this thing off.

  • The Night is Right

    The Night is Right

The night is always well spent when you’re doing something that you love. On this night, we were up finishing up the final touches of Abbitt’s Legacy and doing some #hoodratstuff of course.

    IMG_7417

Test fitting the NUE’s.  This only lasted a week.

    UAC 050

Abbitt told us fender rollers are for pussies. Real men use their fingers.

    IMG_7446

All over the shop was Brandon’s engine all laid out for the rebuild. Labeled and everything.

    IMG_7442

    More engine stuff.

    IMG_7449

Nimo taking off his wing because he didn’t feel like flying tonight.

    IMG_7443

    Abbitt’s roll call.

I just remember us laughing about poppin’ mollies.

    IMG_7464

Went down the street to get some donuts because we love high calorie edibles.

    IMG_7466

    Pretty colors.

  • Japanese Anal Beads

    Japanese Anal Beads

Lowballers Japan and peeps from Fatlace came to visit so we wanted to show them a good time and throw a little meet for them. This meet was only promoted on the morning of and we didn’t even say it was a car meet. We only posted a photo of Yoshi and some anal beads for the event. Surprisingly, there were quite a few cars that came out.

    lbjp 121

R’s Tuning widebody M3 looks so sick.

    lbjp 129

Static CRZ, this thing rolls hard.

    lbjp 132

Ron’s clean E46 on Work Equips.

    lbjp 136

    lbjp 156

    Ryo reppin’ Stussy and Illest.

    lbjp 158

Kentaro translating and being useful for once…just kidding! They were telling Kentaro that they welded the suspension together to one of their cars, so there isn’t a shock or a coil over in the suspension. The control arm is just sitting on the frame. Intense!

    lbjp 139

     More Boss Companyness.

    lbjp 159

The other Kevin from Boss Company/Sequence.

    lbjp 198

    lbjp 210

    Illest. SF TKO LA.

    lbjp 201

Getting to know each other, shit got gay real quick.

    lbjp 218

This green paint was doing it for me. I don’t know why…

    lbjp 226

Been seeing this FRS everywhere I go.

    lbjp 224

I don’t mind though, I still always check it out as if it was my first time seeing it.

Another car that only comes out to special events is the LRG SOUP.

    lbjp 182

     and the crowd swarms in.

    lbjp 170

     Yoshi, the 2nd translator.

    lbjp 161

     Jay getting cray.

    lbjp 138

    My baby girl…

    lbjp 164

     Adam’s dark side.

    lbjp 263

Rolling hard, too bad this shit was blurry.

    lbjp 236

LP JP X RO. It was fun meeting the guys from Japan and hanging with the Fatlace crew. We learned a lot about Japanese culture and their godly ways to get the max camber and max low. Too bad roads here are not as developed compared to Japan’s roads. Good times with like minded people, hope they have a safe trip home and hope to see them soon in their homeland!

  • Getting Shit Done, Making Girls Come.

Getting Shit Done, Making Girls Come.

We were putting in some work the other night at the Boss Company garage. Late nights spent working on cars and talking shit is what I live for. Four years ago, I was here installing coilovers for the first time on my IS300, and here I am four years later still doing the same shit with the same people. Only now, we know what we’re actually doing (kind of) and not just throwing shit on our cars hoping it will fit.

    WFC 099

Spare parts and messy tools seems to be a common theme at every garage I go to.

    WFC 084

    TE-37’s and Work Equips.

    WFC 087

Subframe risers and lots of other goodies for Big Vinh’s 240SX.

    WFC 092

    Varrstoen’s for spares? My bad…

    WFC 091

    Organized.

    WFC 094

“Yeah, I know where everything is.”

    WFC 097

     “Just kidding, it’s a mess…”

    WFC 074

Sneak peak of the new new.

    WFC 068

Got my side skirts fitting where I want them to be. So fucking happy.

    WFC 078

  • Low Problems

    Low Problems

Being low has its problems. People are always saying, “I wouldn’t be able to lower my car like that because of the roads in my area.” The roads are fucked up everywhere, you just learn to adapt to the conditions and remember where the bad roads are. In Vegas though, it’s another story. The roads there are buttery smooth and steep driveways are nonexistent. The only place you have to worry about is the strip and the hotels’ massive speed bumps, probably there for those drunk drivers who like to speed.  This is a lowered car friendly city and that’s why we love to visit so often.

    SEMA 006

One of the lowest cars in Vegas would be Miguel’s Minty Z. Problems he usually has driving in Vegas would be the abnormally large lane reflectors that Vegas has. His side skirts usually become loose at every lane change.

    SEMA 009

Here, we spent the night helping him sticker bomb his front lip, which ended up uglier than we thought it would be. The idea was right, the execution just wasn’t there.

    SEMA 521

We did a little photo shoot with DJ Murdok which I will post later on. Got a cool shot of my IS250 during the shoot.

    SEMA 621

Back in Cali, we had just gotten back from Vegas and thought it would be cool to shoot Shavi’s car and see it leave the garage for once. Surprisingly, it didn’t take much effort to get out of his driveway. The Garage Vary lip can take a beating and it did because Shavi just went straight out of the driveway like it was nothing.

    SEMA 615

If I was an ant, I would be very afraid of seeing Shavi’s car on the road.

    SEMA 630

    Demon Camber.

    SEMA 611

We were very surprised it actually made it down the street to shoot. I’m not even sure how Shavi gets this thing to shows.

    IMG_6375

Is Angelo angling in or is he angling out? He’s actually trying to leave the driveway. If you can make it up a driveway, you can make it out the same way.

    IMG_6379

We wanted to get some Earl of Sandwich at Downtown Disney so we went cruising around with the Colonel of Stance.

    IMG_6387

    AngleLOW.

    IMG_6393

We hit an unexpected speed bump on the way there, not a figuratively speaking speed bump, but literally a speed bump. Jimmy’s car was having some battery problems, so when he was trying to get over the bump, his car got stuck and stalled. We kind of caused traffic…

    IMG_6399
Good thing Angelo was there with some jumper cables and wood to get over the speed bump. The Disneyland park security ran up to us and said that parking was free and we didn’t have to wait…right…we were waiting to pay for parking 😉

  • DSPORT Visit

    DSPORT Visit

I was working on my manual swap for the SC400 when I couldn’t figure out how to set up my clutch pedals. There was so much shit under the dashboard that I made a big electrical mess. To get a better clue on what to do, I hit up the guru of SC300/400, my buddy Vinh Nguyen aka “Cute Vinh.” He was at work so it gave me a reason to visit the DSPORT facility and check out his car.

    WFC 024

My poor girl, wish you had a better owner.

    WFC 059

I arrived at DSPORT and immediately caught them doing cool shit to some fast cars. They’re always working on awesome performance stuff to educate people like me on how to get the best performance out of your car.

    WFC 061

    Michael Ferrara’s R33 Skyline on Enkei RPF1’s.

    WFC 064

Spotted Jeren’s Rocket Bunny S14 enjoying a little rain in the back.

    WFC 050

Looking mean with a KA-T to back up that aggressive look.

    WFC 054

    Wet.

    WFC 058

What I came to see and came, when I saw it. Vinh’s S300 manual-swapped with a W58 transmission and sporting a 2JZ-GTE VVTI. He’s going to be upgrading to a single turbo with a R154 transmission. Must be freaking nice.

  • White & White

    White & White

We were out in Las Vegas, Nevada for the end of the SEMA show at the Las Vegas Convention Center. After we were done with SEMA, we had some time to chill with our friends out there like usual and shoot the cars for a bit. It had been a while since I made a video and got my hands on a new crane, so it was a fun way to learn some new things while filming. Nevertheless, I especially liked this shoot because both these cars were running new setups; be it new wheels or new lip kits. Check out Minh Nguyen’s Lexus IS250 and Keith Cheng’s Honda Accord.

Royal Origin – White Power from Shavi Wijegunaratne on Vimeo.

I also had some time to take some pictures, something I rarely do, but have gotten into playing around with my photo skills these days.

Minh still rocking the Junction Produce Scara wheels, but now with a new lip kit. Looks mighty fine.

Keith recently got a much needed firmware update on his wheel setup; it’s been outdated since 2010. Now updated to Work VS-KF wheels.

    PEACE BE WITH YOU.

  • After SEMA Meet.

    After SEMA Meet.

We rolled out with the Vegas peeps to an after-Sema meet. Surprisingly saw a lot of people I knew, who stopped by the meet before heading home.

Fatlace crew brought out “aVanCalledQuest” and their Ben Sopra GTR.

    Must be nice.

Clean S2K with a CR front lip and Work 11rs.

    Ross Bawstemante’s clean S class.

    My caravan buddy Keith.

    NSX love.

    Clean Evo.

     Beau’s  S13.

    Anthony’s super clean Miata.

One of the cleanest VIP builds I’ve seen this year.

     Fitted so nicely.

Another shot of John fob’s NSX.

Local Lexuses owned by Joe and Jeremy.

    The tasty IS250.

    Sloppy’s Fit.

Sunkist. Thanks for having us at your house!

    Noel’s FRS.

The police had nothing better to do but to crash the meet and tell everyone we’re going to go to jail if we don’t leave.

Time for some cool gas station shots.

     Pumpin’ that cheapass gas.

Goodnight Vegas, we’ll see you in the morning.
