Throwing it back to one of the most memorable events/trips to enjoy different automotive culture than what I am used to in Southern California. Also, took me awhile to edit through the pictures as I rarely do take pictures, however, I recently picked up a Sony A7II with the kit lens, and it has motivated me to shoot more pictures as well as video of course.
DAY ONE: We arrived in Helen, Georgia very early in the morning, and already got greeted by familiar faces, and a lot of different quality ones.
A lost SoCal tribesmen came to greet us as well.
Through my network over at Mazda Fitment, I recognized Nate’s Miata parked in a random parking lot. Definitely as lovely in person as on the internet.
The new finish on the OZ Turbos was a nice touch to the new vinyl wrap theme.
On this trip, I told Ryo he had to come out to an East Coast event before he went back to Japan. Definitely glad he took my word for it, cause he was blown away. Ryo you will be missed!
This VW stood out amongst the rest. Liked it a lot.

Absolute love the direction Chris has had with this car of recent. Always well done through nearly all the stages of this car.
The south has some amazingly smooth roads and awesome twists. Really wanted a proper car to take it on a nice spirited drive here.

Got to enjoy another East Coast trip with Ryan and his WRX. This time around the car has changed quite a lot since then.

DAY THREE: On the last day in Helen we were back in town seeing what was left. Still a good number of cars and quality stuff laying around. This Miata was on point with the BBS RFs.

And back home to SoCal we went. Definitely loved this trip and event. The vibe and feel is different than H2Oi, and is definitely an experience I will continue to try to repeat.
A very important thing to check before a long road trip is your alignment and tire wear. Thankfully, we have the good guys over at 714 Tires to help us prepare our cars for the long trip to Las Vegas. They are one of the few shops in Southern California that work on slammed cars.

I changed my ride height, so the toe was a bit off. Thanks to 714 Tires everything was in spec and ready for Vegas.

It’s insane how much sleep you lose when preparing your car for an event, whether it’s a track day or just a car meet. Making your car up to your expectations takes quite a bit of time and effort. Most of the crew had to get their car ready for our annual Royal Origin meet in Las Vegas. Not only did they have to get the car ready to floss, but they had to get it ready for a four hour trek into the desert.
Ryo, one of the crazier guys in our group had to get his fenders pulled and space our his rear wheels, so it doesn’t rub against the frame anymore.
Crazy, how he’s planning to drive this car to Vegas.
Meanwhile, I was just playing around putting my Work CR-Kai’s on my SC. Doesn’t look that bad in my opinion.

I wasn’t trying to be artistic and deep with the black and white. The only way this photos would come out decent if it were in black and white…

Vinh’s garage is where most of our cars have been worked on or fixed and usually we come back the next day because we messed up on something. We’re not perfect, maybe Instagram makes it look like we have perfect cars, but we don’t. It actually takes a lot of work to build a car that we would be happy with. A suspension drop, wheels and a lip kit doesn’t really count as a build for us. It’s definitely a start, but what separates the car scene kids to the true enthusiast is the attention to detail and the never ending thirst to build a complete all around car.
From Lexus to Nissan now Subaru, Vinh is trying to catch them all. He has always been able to build some unique cars with his simplistic style, every car he has built had it’s own way of grabbing your attention without it having something crazy to it.

Sunsets and slammed cars. Even though cars can be a headache, nothing beats seeing your hard work put into a car with the sun setting in the background. Do it for the love of the build instead of Instagram likes.
 It’s crazy to think that the last time I was at Autocon was  3 years ago. Time flies by fast, one day you’re complaining about car shows the next day you’re helping host one. It has really changed my perspective of car shows and now I fully understand the stress and headaches of running a car show. I apologize for what I’ve said back in 2011 about this show. I was young, dumb and a wreckless keyboard warrior. Even though apologies are way too late now, I hope this picture of a sad chocolate Labrador will make up for it.
The morning started like every other car show, early as fuck roll in. The process for check in was pretty quick and we got set up within 20 minutes of checking in.
Hundreds of cars were pouring in through this gate. I hate commenting on about cars because all I can really say is what kind of car it is and what wheels it has. So, I’ll just comment here and there if I really have something interesting to say.. which is never.

I feel like I’ve been covering Formula Drift Long Beach for a while now. Not much has changed, maybe different cars but the same vibe. Seems like every year I get less and less content because I end up having other priorities on my plate. This year it was the first time I was working with a company that had a booth in the vendor aisle. Â So my deepest apologies if there isn’t that many photos. Sad to say, BOOSHMA V2 never came into fruition and Derek had decided to part ways with his S13 project. It was just too much work and Derek did not have any means to get around to work and school. Derek was lucky enough that Vinh hooked him up with our old friend Jimmy of Super Autobacs on a pretty clean GS300. This GS300 has alot of history with us, Vinh did his second air setup on this car and I remember drooling over this car every time I went to Super Autobacs. 6 grand later and here we have BOOSHMA V3.

It is very rare for me to make my way down to San Diego, just because it is quite a drive and there is never really a reason to go there. But for a few days, I had to stay down there for some hospital interview, and on my free time I was able to explore a small portion of San Diego, mostly downtown SD. While I was there, I got to hang out with my buddy Bobby Bouaphakeo, who showed me a few beautiful spots in SD.
Bobby showed me a cool spot with a view of downtown San Diego. It was time to clean the car up and take some pictures before it got too dark.

Bobby is an OG in Wrong Fitment Crew. Since I have known him, he has gone through a variety of cars.

School is out and summer is here, so we got our short shorts, rounded up the homies, and went to the park for a BBQ. David, being as generous as he is, planned the event and bought all the food for us. He grilled some delicious burgers and Korean BBQ for us. We had a good time and there were good vibes. Some of us got friendly rounds of basketball in and even played tag. We haven’t seen each other as often as before because of our busy lives, so it was nice that everyone came out. A meet up with Royal Origin also means a car meet, so the parking lot at the park looked like a full blown car meet.
