Auto Enthusiast Day

Sunny days in southern California means another car show weekend. Nitto Tire in collaboration with Formula Drift hosted a Auto Enthusiast day car show for free. That’s right, FREE 99. Car show participants just had to register to be in the car show, vendors only needed to donate a prize for the raffle and attendees just had to pay for parking. They also had a drift demonstration with some of the best Formula Drift drivers such as Matt Fields, Vaughn Gittin Jr. and Matt Powers. Attendees only had to sign up for a free raffle that could win many vendor prizes and a ride along in the drift demo.

Early in the morning we met up to caravan to Anaheim Stadium.

A fan favorite is Phat’s Cayman on white Forgestar wheels.

We were staged right across from this beauty at the event, Robert’s Rocket Bunny FRS now with a crazy canard set up.

What was great about this event was that it had cars from all over the spectrum from off-roading vehicles to hard core drift cars.

Not sure why there was a line up of Ford vehicles with their hoods opened.

Even if the car show area looked like a regular parking lot, this guy had a setup for a high end car show.

Speaking of wraps, Mike Vo continues to kill the Lexus game with his GS.

Some drift action, it was pretty cool that they took on spectators for a ride. It was even cooler when they did the 5 car drift tandem which I didn’t get any photos of…

The best thing to get at a car show lately, ribbon fries.

Crowds of people just trying to get free stuff. They had funny ways of giving away gifts like who has an expired licenses would get a free t-shirt.

Aloha from Race Sauce, J Spirit and Yours Truly.

Aloha, today we got some coverage of the meet we had for Sara Choi from Race Sauce/VPR Hawaii. Crazy how being a Korean pop star Instagram famous gangster can bring together, so many people for a car meet. People from Las Vegas to San Jose came to the meet just to get a glimpse of the girl who drives a yellow CR S2000 in Hawaii. When we arrived to the meet, there were already a good amount of people who came early to get a good spot in the parking lot. Needless to say the parking lot was already filled on the M&M side of the meet in 20 minutes.

Chris Foreman. I’ve seen him grow from that 17 year old boy getting stuck over speed bumps at Oakley to this drifting, wheel flipper, cock sucking man right here. I remember I was there for his 18th birthday when we were at some parking structure at UCI. I made a lame joke saying it was his 18×13 birthday because he was running 18×13, wheels which was probably the widest on a 350z at the time. He went from that being who’s lower pissing contest to let’s just enjoy cars attitude and don’t give a fuck what others say. Well the last part he’s always been like that and that’s my favorite part about him. I hope you success and happiness in Tennessee. We’re going to all miss you and your stupid 350z.

Neel Nana. You were my first Indian friend and you perpetuated all the stereo types of how Apu from the Simpsons would talk. It was awesome the shit you would say like ” I gotta piss like a rock star”, “fuck that” or the classic “hoooddrraaaaaatt”. Not that many people know, but Neel is the mother fucking master of TFTI. You weren’t anywhere important or cool if Neel didn’t say TFTI back then. Now I really can’t invite you anywhere because you’re moving to Las Vegas. Make sure you throw the TFTIs at the Chivas and Gerald.

Nick Patel. The one memory that sticks out the most with you is the time we played basketball at one of our BBQs. We all picked teams and the team you were on someone complained that it was a bad match up. You told them to “shut up and let’s play”. Literally 10-15 minutes later, you beat my team in your fucking sandals. In sandals for God sakes, you were making it rain 3’s like a rich virgin with dollar bills at a strip club. That was probably the coolest shit ever that day. Good luck with your career in Ventura County, I’m sure you will love not having to micro manage anymore.

The dude in the green being hugged is Charles Lam. He’s moving to Amsterdam for a job in a couple of months. Working abroad is a great way to gain new experiences and grow professionally. Last Saturday, we celebrated Joey Lee’s fifth year of running The Chronicles. If you never heard of his site then you probably don’t know what porn is either. In which case I suggest to check out his site stickydiljoe.com and xvideos.com. I’m a big fan boy of Joey’s work because he always has really good content on his site and gets great coverage at every automotive event. So, if you love cars and need a good read after being on xvideos his site is the place to go. Vinh, Keith and I showed at Year V with some of the Vegas guys, it was pretty exciting because Vinh and Chivas who both had to rebuild their engines would be debuting their cars at Year V.

Formula Drift 2013 | Irwindale

I hope you enjoyed our last post which was mostly focused on the Slammed Society showcase. I love talking about myself so I’ll be showing you Irwindale through my eyes and what I experienced. The morning of the show was pretty hectic, we had to get enough food for the whole day, drinks, pack up a canopy and a hundred folding chairs into my car. Somehow we were able to fit most of it in my compact IS250. We were suppose to leave Stanton at 9:30 AM, but shit out of luck we ended up leaving at 10:14 AM. I had planned for Heather to drive my car while I did some rolling shots, but she ate a bunch of frosted flakes that morning and couldn’t make it. Somehow I ended up with Thao in my car, but she’s been riding dirty without a licenses for a while so she had to be the photographer. I just set the settings for her and let her fire away.

This year was a bit more of a hassle as mention in the previous post. Irwindale security was really on our asses about not being able to take passengers even if they had a ticket. People were yelling left and right, tensions were high and all because they didn’t want to let loved ones through the gate even if they paid for a ticket already.

After all the commotion settled down, we got the cars set up and the fun began.

Slammed Society Irwindale

So this past weekend Royal Origin decided to come out in full force for the Slammed Society Irwindale show. We rolled up 20 plus cars deep and like usual we all got there kind of late, but everything ended up working out perfectly because Fatlace gave us a little corner on the drag strip to set up all our cars. The only problem I had with roll in was that no one told us we weren’t allowed to have a passenger roll in with us. So all the passengers (girlfriends) were told to wait outside of the gates until 2 P.M. when the gates would open to the public. Luckily Bonnie, Regina, and Carol dressed up like import models that day and we were able to sneak them in through Dsport as import models and Ryo from Lowballers Japan as their photographer! Besides that little problem, SS Irwindale would have to be one of the funnest shows I’ve been to in a while. Vinh, Minh, and I were able to go down to the pits and get right up close and personal with the drift cars, and thanks to Young everyone was turned up to the fullest that day. I can’t wait for Formula D to start next year I’m definitely getting a media pass for every show!

Enough of me talking and onto the cars. This past show brought out the best of the best fitment, from meaty fitment all the way down to stretch tire fitment. It also brought out different build styles from full blown track cars to cars that are literally millimeters off the ground. I wasn’t able to take many pictures of the cars because coincidentally the perfect time to take pictures was also the perfect time for the public to check out the showcase.

The king of cracking oil pans, Jimmy muthafuckin Lieu, He has cracked 6 oil pans with in the span of 6 months. He decided to go full retard for the show and tuck rim all the way around. Sadly he cracked his pan for the 7th time on the way home from the show, but everything worked out okay, he got a tow from our good friend Kevin and slapped on his new pan the following day.

I believe I’ve seen this civic around citrus college. I love the white on black theme you have going on.

This EG hatch was insane. One of a kind rebarrled regamasters and it was converted to right hand drive!

This Acura CL reminded me of my friend Michael Johnson’s Acura TL, none the less, it was a beautiful piece of machinery.

This accord was on the ground! Kudo’s to you if you are static!!

John Tran’s Integra sitting beautifully on CCW’s Unfortunately the following morning, the car was stolen from Orange Coast College. Can everyone please keep an eye out for this car, it was last seen in Riverside.

Sean’s G35 had people scratching there head’s and wondering how he drives this thing. The fitment on this car is ridiculously insane!

AWWWWWWFILMS brought out his spec B legacy. Love his white on white combo, keep an eye out for his car when he rocks the rotiform wrw’s.

Vinh aka “big vinh” was afraid he wasn’t going to be able to show because he didn’t have enough time to finish his turbo setup. Luckily with the help of friends he was able to get it running properly the night before.

Kyle brought out his newly finished BN sport S13. It was so hard for me to snap a picture of this car due to people swarming around it! Congratulations on winning the speedhunter award and I can’t wait for the feature to drop.

“JPN SPEC” was what the license plate said on this car. Without a doubt this car definitely fits in with that category. Right hand drive converted with the multicolor race scheme straight out of Japan.

Slammed Society Prep 2013

I don’t think it’s possible…… For Royal Origin to not be last minute on finishing our cars for any show. We had a couple of people in the group that were finishing their cars up for the Formula Drift Slammed Society showcase. We had Big Vinh who is putting together a turbo kit, Vinhnumber is rebuilding his STI motor after it was blown, Jay and John slapping on a bunch of aero, June who is doing a complete makeover and Chris trying to make some Work Equips with ridiculous negative offsets fit his car. It just seemed like everyone was all over the place while all I was worried about was getting a car detail from Adam.

Beach Burger DBAP

As some of you know, I started working for Illest Orange County since June and now Big Vinh works there as well. Mark Arcenal was down here visiting the shop, so we had to show him Big Vinh’s S13.

Mark was pretty excited to make an Instagram video of Vinh’s car.

Vinh’s S13 was very bright and shiny today.

Jay wanted to see Vinh’s tattoo really bad and couldn’t wait for him to take off his shirt.

Crazy how a set of wheels can change a car so much. Vinh’s car was pretty cool before with the Varrstoens, but with the XD-9’s it totally changes the way you view this car. I don’t know if it’s the design of the wheel or the color, but Vinh has made me fall in love with his S13.
