    Nemo’s Garage | Grand Opening

It’s that time of the year in Southern California, where the blistering heat and car meets align. This weekend took us to the Nemo’s Garage grand opening in Ontario, California. And as you will see they are new, but veterans of experience and knowledge in the automotive realm; big with the Honda platforms.

Just Hold On We’re Going Home

Just as the title says, just hold on we’re going home. We were on our way back from Las Vegas, Nevada; where we had our annual anniversary meet. Going down the 15 North back to Southern California we ended up at the abandoned water park to take some quick pictures before traffic builds up too much.

  • Cruising With The Meat

    Cruising With The Meat

A couple of weeks ago; our friends from Lowballers Japan paid California a visit. It was great to show them around and give them a taste of our daily Hoodrat American shenanigans. The night before they were to fly back home to the land of the rising sun we did our best to organize a meet to end their trip to California with an awesome memory. Blasted on mediums of social media the meet had an awesome turnout. Cars from all over showed up and the parking lots went bonkers. What started as a meet turn into a cruise. Explanation to follow…

    348BIPPU

The planned location was at the Best Buy parking lot at the Tustin Marketplace on the border of Irvine and Tustin. Although it was “scheduled” to start at 9PM, I showed up to the parking lot at 8:30  to find rows of cars already lined up and people already mingling. Cars continued to fill the lot and the parking lot got filled quick. Around 9:15 Tustin PD showed up and kicked us out. I guess there was just too many awesome cars for them to handle. Word spread quick that the next spot to meet was the Petsmart parking lot at The District down the street.

349I’m not a fan of the trending crazy-sporty-VIP style, but i love the attention to detail that people put into these builds

356Every time I see this car, I lose my mind. It’s static, it gets driven, it’s awesome

Word had traveled quick as everyone was forced to leave the Tustin Marketplace. The next spot was the Petsmart parking lot at The District. Like a scene from The Fast and The Furious almost everyone rolled up and bombed down Jamboree. Oil pans scraped and cars screamed at wide open throttle to the next spot. Once everyone had reconvened at the second location, people continued to hang out but eventually Tustin PD showed up once again and escorted us all out. On to spot number 3.

To those who came out; thanks for showing the Lowballers Japan guys some cool cars and how committed people are in Socal. I’m sure they appreciated the magnitude of the meet and will be looking forward to the next one when they pay Socal another visit.

  • Video Timeline 2012

I recently decided to compile all my footage from 2012 into a timeline video. While I was doing this, I thought it was cool that I took the time and effort to create a video nearly every month of the year. Great way to learn from my mistakes and improve; at least I hope I am improving. In the end, I do this for fun as an additional hobby to my obsession with cars. I hope you guys enjoy a look into my 2012.

  • White & White

    White & White

We were out in Las Vegas, Nevada for the end of the SEMA show at the Las Vegas Convention Center. After we were done with SEMA, we had some time to chill with our friends out there like usual and shoot the cars for a bit. It had been a while since I made a video and got my hands on a new crane, so it was a fun way to learn some new things while filming. Nevertheless, I especially liked this shoot because both these cars were running new setups; be it new wheels or new lip kits. Check out Minh Nguyen’s Lexus IS250 and Keith Cheng’s Honda Accord.

Royal Origin – White Power from Shavi Wijegunaratne on Vimeo.

I also had some time to take some pictures, something I rarely do, but have gotten into playing around with my photo skills these days.

Minh still rocking the Junction Produce Scara wheels, but now with a new lip kit. Looks mighty fine.

Keith recently got a much needed firmware update on his wheel setup; it’s been outdated since 2010. Now updated to Work VS-KF wheels.

    PEACE BE WITH YOU.

  • See Ya Later…

    See Ya Later…

The part I hate most about our out-of-state friends visiting us, is saying goodbye. All good things come to an end and even though we will for sure see them in the near future, it’s always sad when they leave.  We started out the day with the obligatory all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ at Cham Sut Gol.

    Sizzlin’ brisket.

The best part about eating at Cham Sut Gol is the free thrifty ice cream.

Afterwards, we rolled out to meet up with Nimo and the IE guys for a photo shoot in Anaheim Hills.

  • Royal Origin Summer

    Royal Origin Summer

School is out and summer is here, so we got our short shorts, rounded up the homies, and went to the park for a BBQ. David, being as generous as he is, planned the event and bought all the food for us. He grilled some delicious burgers and Korean BBQ for us. We had a good time and there were good vibes. Some of us got friendly rounds of basketball in and even played tag. We haven’t seen each other as often as before because of our busy lives, so it was nice that everyone came out. A meet up with Royal Origin also means a car meet, so the parking lot at the park looked like a full blown car meet.
    Here is Jimmy’s fresh-to-death Civic…

Charles took out the Q45 for a tan along with Nick’s SC400. Nick’s SC was lowered the next day, so watch out for that! Should look sick.
