Southern Worthersee Part Four | Throw Back

Throwing it back to one of the most memorable events/trips to enjoy different automotive culture than what I am used to in Southern California. Also, took me awhile to edit through the pictures as I rarely do take pictures, however, I recently picked up a Sony A7II with the kit lens, and it has motivated me to shoot more pictures as well as video of course.

DAY ONE: We arrived in Helen, Georgia very early in the morning, and already got greeted by familiar faces, and a lot of different quality ones.

A lost SoCal tribesmen came to greet us as well.

Through my network over at Mazda Fitment, I recognized Nate’s Miata parked in a random parking lot. Definitely as lovely in person as on the internet.

The new finish on the OZ Turbos was a nice touch to the new vinyl wrap theme.

On this trip, I told Ryo he had to come out to an East Coast event before he went back to Japan. Definitely glad he took my word for it, cause he was blown away. Ryo you will be missed!

This VW stood out amongst the rest. Liked it a lot.

Alex Goldstein’s E92 M3 On BBS RS2 wheels. Got the pleasure of shooting this car, which you can see later on in this post.

Another Mazda that I recognize through my network at Mazda Fitment. Also, got to meet the owner, was pretty cool.

Absolute love the direction Chris has had with this car of recent. Always well done through nearly all the stages of this car.

The south has some amazingly smooth roads and awesome twists. Really wanted a proper car to take it on a nice spirited drive here.

Southern beauty. Found this random pond/lake. Definitely not the nature we are used to in Southern California.

This E46 M3 had an excellent blend of style with the Weds Kranze LXZs.

One of a decent number of Miatas at SOWO. This one on AME made Fatlace FZERO1.

Another euro that blended a different style to the mundane usual stuff you would see on a euro.

This is a husband and wife pair right here. Both into some rad vintage euros; the bug and the bus.

Something I am more used to seeing back home.

Loved the fender to lip of the wheel fitment. On point fife.

DAY TWO: We stayed at Chris’s cabin about a few miles out of Helen, and came back the next day to continue exploring Helen.

Behind that door was bad things.
    www.shop.royal-origin.com

I have seen a few pictures of this in the past floating around from Southern Fresh. Finally get to meet Justin and his LS400.

Kyle’s 326power’d out GS300. Got to shoot both of these later on as well.

The Risky Devil yacht. AJ bought this down from Arizona to Chicago to Georgia.

Found an awesome spot to shoot the cars. Here is Alex’s E92 M3.

Loving the southern back drop. A nice different scenery that we are usually used to in SoCal.

    Horse friends.

Kyle’s GS300 enjoying that southern air.

It’s Fun To Do Bad Things.
    www.shop.royal-origin.com

Love the rear end of this one with all those lines and details. Kyle just needs to insert the tips ;]

    Justin’s LS400. Custom wide body.

Love the aggressive boss presence this has.

    Those fender cuts. Love it.

Got to enjoy another East Coast trip with Ryan and his WRX. This time around the car has changed quite a lot since then.

Always a pleasure to enjoy Ryan’s southern hospitality.

DAY THREE: On the last day in Helen we were back in town seeing what was left. Still a good number of cars and quality stuff laying around. This Miata was on point with the BBS RFs.

The iconic Walking Dead location. Atlanta, Georgia.

    Atlanta, Georgia from the sky.

And back home to SoCal we went. Definitely loved this trip and event. The vibe and feel is different than H2Oi, and is definitely an experience I will continue to try to repeat.

  • H2Oi 2014

    H2Oi 2014

H2Oi…You have probably heard of this event that takes places at the end of September in Ocean City, Maryland. If you haven’t heard of it by now, then you are missing out on the biggest automotive gathering on the East Coast. This year some of our friends and I decided to go finally check it out, and experience what H2Oi is all about.

The moment we landed in Ocean City it was worth it already. Nothing but the best the East Coast has to offer, especially in the Euro realm.

Once we were on Coastal Highway aka the strip, there was nothing but modified car after modified car. It was almost as if you were living in a city, where auto enthusiasts out numbered regular people.

There was a good variety of everything cruising up and down the strip throughout the weekend.

One of the craziest things was the amount of police activity. People were getting towed left and right because Ocean City police believed their cars to be unsafe to drive. So, they impounded an enormous amount of cars, but all those cars were towed right back out and back onto the streets. Like this tC from New York.

Then once night hit we witnessed the beautiful chaos. There were even more cars on the strip, and this time doing burnouts for days up and down the strip. And the amount of people watching on the sidewalks was utterly crazy. It was really something you had to be there to experience.

The amount of people during the day was nothing to the amount of people that came out at night.

And then any random area you go, you would see a cool car.

This IS300 with some Rocketbunny front fenders and universal rear flares.

Group of Subarus out in a quite remote area of Ocean City.

    More coastal parking lot spottings.

Group shot of some of the new and old friends at the Mazda Fitment x Wrong Fitment Crew meet up.

    Hawk-eye STi on Enkei RS05RR.

There sure were a lot of Subarus everywhere.

More of the variety you would see at H2Oi.

FD RX-7 on VIP Modular VX610.

Another car on a set of VIP Modular VX610.

Slant lips have been making their rounds onto more cars recently.

This civic showing love all the way from Quebec, Canada. Thanks!

John’s Orange 350z on Weds Kranze LXZ.

Chris and Ryan hard styling to friendship.

The trip to H2Oi for the first time was definitely something you will not forget, and have major withdrawals. I would recommend everyone to take the chance to experience it for themselves, because any pictures or videos you see online just do not live up to the first hand account.

    AUTOCON LA 2014

It’s crazy to think that the last time I was at Autocon was  3 years ago. Time flies by fast, one day you’re complaining about car shows the next day you’re helping host one. It has really changed my perspective of car shows and now I fully understand the stress and headaches of running a car show. I apologize for what I’ve said back in 2011 about this show. I was young, dumb and a wreckless keyboard warrior. Even though apologies are way too late now, I hope this picture of a sad chocolate Labrador will make up for it.

    cute-sad-puppy-face

The morning started like every other car show, early as fuck roll in. The process for check in was pretty quick and we got set up within 20 minutes of checking in.

    140

Hundreds of cars were pouring in through this gate. I hate commenting on about cars because all I can really say is what kind of car it is and what wheels it has. So, I’ll just comment here and there if I really have something interesting to say.. which is never.

    152

    153

    I want this diffuser bad.

    156

    165

So many Lambos at the 88 Rotors booth. That whole section was money.

  • See Ya Later…

    See Ya Later…

The part I hate most about our out-of-state friends visiting us, is saying goodbye. All good things come to an end and even though we will for sure see them in the near future, it’s always sad when they leave.  We started out the day with the obligatory all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ at Cham Sut Gol.

    Sizzlin’ brisket.

The best part about eating at Cham Sut Gol is the free thrifty ice cream.

Afterwards, we rolled out to meet up with Nimo and the IE guys for a photo shoot in Anaheim Hills.

     Love watching the sun kiss…

This is the first thing Nimo does when he sees me…

     Nimo test driving the Sunkist.

He looks pretty good in it.

    StanceWorks | Avila Invitational

The boys & I went on a road trip to check out StanceWorks Avila Invitational. We wanted to see cars we usually don’t see and enjoy some scenery. The day started at 4:30A.M. with 5 hour energy drinks and hot cheetos.

Gassing up before the longass 4-hour drive.

I rode along with Derek; he drove this low with a packed car, which actually helped with the stiff ride. It was super bouncy, but I still managed to take a nap.

  • The First Meet of the New Year!

The First Meet of the New Year!

Hello world, my name is Angelo Calderon, and this is my first time blogging so bare with me for the horrific photography and writing you are about to see and read.

You might want to know a little more about myself; well I currently attend Mount San Antonio College as a Business Marketing major at the moment. I currently shoot with a  Canon 40d, but will hopefully upgrade some time in the future. I drive a 2004 Chrome Silver Nissan 350z. I love to hang out with my Royal Origin/Lowballers family, that I am lucky to be a part of, and you can catch me at meets/car shows. That being said, if any of you know how I look like don’t be shy to come up to me and say what’s up!! I don’t bite or anything I don’t think.

So, I was pretty excited to come to this food truck/car meet, because it was the first meet of the year, and also right down my street so I wouldn’t have to do much driving to get to the location. Once I was there I met up with my friends Minh, and Nimo. Nimo being as famous as could be in the car scene was already talking to a group of people that were interested in buying his car, so I looked around and finally found Minh. Minh had his camera out already shooting cars, so he handed me my camera (he picked up my camera from David, who was borrowing it) and we went around and started taking pictures.

Here are the pictures I took of this little meet, so bare with me because I know they are horrible.

My BFFL Vinh’s STI driven all the way down from Nor Cal, don’t be shocked to see a new set of wheels on this car every 3 months, because he is a certified wheel whore.
