    Fresh Key Chains

Keith is one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet. Down to Earth and very easy to talk to. If he doesn’t like you, it must mean there’s seriously something fucking wrong with you. When I heard that he’s never been featured by someone before, it just blew my mind. I’ve seen his car on a couple of sites and thought he’s been featured before, but he told me that he shot those pictures and submitted it. They say nice guys finish last, well Keith you’re about to finish all over everyone’s faces with your new look. Keith recently got his MB battles polished, his kit freshly painted, his custom dual exhaust put together and a big ass ITSJDMYO sticker. He’s been in the game for a long time and is finally getting the recognition he deserves even if it’s on a little site like ours. Enjoy the photos, Keith did not shoot any of these pictures and if he did it would be a lot cleaner.

  • AUTOCON : THE REAL COVERAGE

    AUTOCON : THE REAL COVERAGE

The couple of days before AUTOCON were super stressful. Most of us were in a frantic hurry to finish our cars for what we expected to be an awesome show. Some of us even worked on our cars the night before the show, while we were having our family Christmas party. I only had 1 hour of sleep total for the 2 days prior to AUTOCON. There were a lot of disappointments for my car even though I had put so much work into it. My wheels weren’t sealed correctly, my body kit didn’t fit, and my motor was only running on 4 cylinders. Despite all that, I still looked forward to AUTOCON because of all the hype. People mentioned how great of a show it was last year, so I expected the same this year. But before I tell you how the show was, I’ll just give you guys some insight on what Royal Origin was doing during the show.

Our roll in time for the Royal Origin x Canibeat collaboration was at 7:00 AM. Yes, that fucking early. So, we had to gather up the whole crew and meet up beforehand at 6:30AM. We had 31 cars total, including Royal Origin, goodfeeling, Sexy Squad, Lowballers, Boss Company, and Studio. Caravaning to the event was freaking awesome; it was like being in a parade of slammed cars. If that’s how my day was going to start, I knew that the rest of the day would be even better, right? Wrong. When we got there, all we saw was a parking lot that was gated, with a deep incline where most of us scraped our cars while going in. When they said El Toro Air Field I was expecting an airplane hanger or being on an air strip. Nope, it was just a parking lot that smelled like manure, like forreal. Thank the JDM Gods that it didn’t smell like that the whole day; it was either I got used to the smell or it just went away magically. Anyways, I left around 9:00 AM to go to 714 Tires to get my Equips remounted and was hoping it would hold air. Therefore, I missed the staging part of the show. From what I was told, Justin just gave us a corner and said do what ever we want. We were all pretty surprised because we thought that since we were told to come at 7:00 AM sharp, they would have a plan for us that required us to be done setting up early. If we knew that that was the case, we could have just come later and staged ourselves in 15 minutes because all we did was park the way we do at meets. Randomly. It was a waste of our time because all we did was stand/sit/sleep from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM.

When I got back, the food trucks were starting to park and open up. The gate that the vendors and people who were showing were entering through was still open, which I thought was a convenient way for us to get to the food trucks. Unfortunately, when I tried taking that route to get to the food trucks, it was closed. Because of that, we had to go through the entrance where they were searching people, walk all the way around the gate to get to the food trucks and then come back and get searched. What a hassle. This is a little diagram of how it looked like, in the picture by JDM Life Style. The red spot is where ROYAL ORIGIN was, the pink spot is where the new entrance for spectators was, the blue spot is where the food trucks were and the yellow spot is where there was a convenient pathway, but they closed it. The light blue is where they should’ve had AUTOCON at the air base hanger…

Now, you must be thinking “Fuck Minh, you’re so fucking lazy and it’s just that you guys were placed so far, so it was inconvenient for you guys.” No ninja, we were technically the closest to the food trucks. Imagine if we were in the corner right next to the yellow spot.  I would have to cut through the entire show just to get to the food trucks.

  • Best VIP

    Best VIP

As some of you may know, I work for the California Grill Truck and we travel all around the OC serving our Korean BBQ subs. This past weekend, our trip was to Fontana Speedway for a Continental Race event. There was a car show and when I got there one of the organizers thought I was there for the show. I said no, but he asked if I could just park and be part of the show. I was like why not, so I just hard parked at the show and went to work. After everything was over, the organizer told me I won best VIP. I thought that was real funny and it was only because there were like 5 cars at the show. He wanted me to pay for registration and then I would get my award. I didn’t feel ballin’ enough to pay for an award, so I passed on it. Well, that’s my short story for today. Fontana Speedway had some really cool spots to shoot. I usually don’t shoot my own car, but I just had to take this opportunity.

Today I present to you some lovely art by Jeff Payuan. He’s one of our attention to detail photographers and all his photos always come out brilliant. If you have ever gotten a picture taken by Jeff, you basically have been blessed by a thousand angels.  Unlike my pictures where everything is auto tone, auto contrast, auto color and image resize.  His pictures are carefully edited and make nice wall papers.  Let’s start with some fan favorites, the mintiest of all Zs.

    SWAGADEGA NIGHTS VOL.1

A couple of months ago, Ommar hit us up about doing a collaboration meet with his crew Oniwagens and Style Over Comfort. We were kinda hesitant about doing a meet with them because most of the Oniwagens crew are from San Diego and doing a meet with them would probably require us to drive down to San Diego. Good thing the Oniwagens are down as fuck and wanted to do the meet somewhere in the OC. After some talking, Swagadega nights was born and here we are with a successful meet and good times.

The days are counting down for the big event at AUTOCON. I’m trying to get my SC together before then and want to re barrel my WORK EQUIPS that I bought from CZ WHEELS. I went to David’s house because he was already working on something on his car and he helped me take apart the wheels. Most of the nuts were super rusted and I wanted to get it replaced, went to three different shops and none of them carried it. Apparently, it’s a special nut with special threading and no one around my area carried it. Even a specialty nut and bolt ware house where all they sell is nuts and bolts! Fuck life.

  • The Impossible Will Take a While (The Story of my Lexus SC400)

The Impossible Will Take a While (The Story of my Lexus SC400)

Everyone has their dream cars, from the NSX  to the Murcielago. In all my years I was into cars, I was never really into those super cars that everyone would give an arm and a leg for. I have a slightly different liking for cars. I’m more into the cars that everyone sees everyday and then making them a beautiful form of moving  art. I know people say this is just a hobby and you’ll probably get over it in years to come, but I believe it’s something much more than that. It’s my way of showing the world that there is a creative side of me because hell I can not draw or paint if my life depended on it. I’m trying to get my SC400 ready for AUTOCON because to me that event is like an art gallery and one of the pieces that I want to be displayed is my car.

You must be thinking, “Damn, Minh you have two cars?! Must be freaking nice” and I have to tell you it is nice. The story behind me buying this car was when I had the money I could have bought UAS(Universal Air System) aka bags for my IS250.

When I talked to my financial adviser(my girlfriend) she said, “With that much money, why don’t you just buy another car?” I considered investing in something like Bitcoin UK, but instead, we decided to buy another car. She helped put in half of the money, so half of this car belongs to her and whatever I do to it, I run it by her first. Good thing we have similar taste in everything. So, here it is my 1992 Lexus SC400…

The first thing you should do to any car is drop it. After months of research, I decided to go with Powered by Max coil overs. It was the most stiffest ride you can get(insert dirt joke here) and probably gives you the best drop for the SC. They also dip it in gold for you and give you copper plated springs.

  • The Legend

    The Legend

Let me introduce to you THE LEGEND, Kyle Ranauro from goodfeeling and Studio. Kyle’s car has been getting a lot of recognition lately, sooner or later he’ll be too cool to let me take pictures of his cars. In San Diego I had the chance to snap some quick photos of his car. I really wanted to get some rolling shots to show you guys how insane this car looks when it’s in motion. I almost drifted into a wall because he broke my neck when we were cruising home from Autofashion. The weather was pretty relentless when we were in SD and the roads fucking suck, so we ended up just doing a small shoot in front of an abandoned Chinese restaurant. Be sure to make it out to AUTOCON because he will be showing with us along with the other goodfeeling guys aka “neck brace givers”.

Every year Autofashion hosts a VIP festival for all those luxurious cars VIP styling cars. I’ve been to this festival for the past 3 years and it’s always been chill and cool meet to attend. This year I rolled with the homies, goodfeeling. They planned to get a hotel the night before VIP fest so, we didn’t have to wake up early for the caravan from OC to San Diego. We ended up drinking that night and popped bottles all night.

Yeahh.. I am a one beer queer. So, jack and coke sent me into meditation.
