    SHUTTER SPACE | EVENT COVERAGE

Every year Toyo Tires hosts a photography gallery event called “Shutter Space”, where they show some of the best automotive photography. The event happened to be down the street from where I live, so me and some of the boys decided to come and check it out.

The parking lot was already packed with sick cars.

    Steven’s

    Rodney’s wack Cressida.

    The gallery was poppin’.

    Phaze 2 out in front.

    Jerald’s Pandem RC350.

    Pandem E46 on Work Meisters.

    Noel’s infamous FRS.

    Supra craze.

Toyo had this sick RWB in display inside of the gallery.

Our “Dreams” coach jacket available on shop.royal-origin.com.

We spotted a guy reppin’ one of the OG tees we did.

    Pink never looked so good.

    John’s crazy custom widebody NSX.

    Clean FD on Enkei RPF1.

    JDM love.

Spotted Louie’s Miata on the way to my car. So clean!

An even crazier FD hidden away in the huge parking lot.

Ending it with this crazy cambered Z3. Thanks for visiting!

  • The Unveiling | IDLDesign USA

    The Unveiling | IDLDesign USA

It seems like every year I’m always going through a mundane cycle. Every year I would be attending the same shows and see nothing different in the car scene. This year however I haven’t been to any shows, so everything looks crazy to me. Something crazy in particular was floating around the internet weeks before SEMA was a render of Mikey from Phaze 2/IDL Design’s Porsche in a new body kit by Old New JP. The design got rid of the Porsche’s headlights and added some vents to the front fender with all of the lights being mounted on the front bumper. To be honest, the render did not look good at all when I first saw it, but when Mikey invited us to come out to the unveiling BBQ, we saw something completely different than the basic render.

    dsc02267

We got to witness the first Old New JP Porsche in the states. This car is so well put together from the fitment of the wheels to the interior setup. Everything is literally on point.

    dsc02282

The front end grows on you instantly like weeds in a garden.

    dsc02301

Phaze 2 is known for breaking the internet with their cars. Make sure after this post you go reset your modem.

    dsc02313

    dsc02324

This rear shot is so money. Deep wheels and a fat ass.

    dsc02277

Some of the guys and our girlfriends came out to the BBQ to see the sea green beast.

    dsc02284

Darren’s GT3 with the Spoon inspired livery taken off.

    dsc02286

Karl’s Ferrari 360 on Rotiform LSR.

Phaze 2’s new hang out spot is huge!

    dsc02310

On the other corner Jerald was getting his freshly painted and kitted RC350 polished for SEMA.

Jerald just got the new Work Meisters and Pandem kit to display at SEMA.

    dsc02360

This shop had so many colorful cars on Rotiforms.

    dsc02334

Charles was in town all the way from Amsterdam and decided to come out to the BBQ.

    dsc02365

Outside in the streets, Phaze 2 had a bunch of friends with nice cars roll to the unveiling, like this RWB.

After the BBQ, we went to MJ cafe for dessert and drinks…

    Henry’s GS on Konig Monsters.

Thanks Mikey for having us at your unveiling! The cars are looking sicker than ever!

  • Wekfest LA 2014

    Wekfest LA 2014

Wekfest has become one of the best shows in the nation. The Queen Mary is probably the most over used spot in Southern California for a car show with that being said Wekfest has always been able to give a sell out crowd with lines that would reach a mile long. That’s pretty impressive considering how saturated car shows are in southerm California. To me Wekfest LA is like a big party where all the friends that you wanted to be there actually show up and are there on time. We try to go to all of the Wekfest shows when it’s in our vicinity and this time to start off the first event in California, we threw a collaboration pre meet for Wekfest LA. Thank Kenneth for giving us the opportunity to host the Wekfest LA Pre Meet and for having us at the show.

    WEKFEST LA 002

Being a vendor we had to be at the venue at 7 AM. Crazy to see all these people awake and energetic so early in the morning. Some of us only got 2 hours or no sleep.

    WEKFEST LA 003

This Miata is pretty awesome. Crazy back story on these wheels. These are the same wheels that were stolen off of Tina’s Miata. When shit gets stolen from you, don’t expect the cops to get it back for you even if you have proof and a police report. #FTP and #fuckthieves.

    Street Sweeping to Cutting Meat

This day happened because Dax from the Street Sweeper Gang saw my photo of John’s Integra on Instagram. Dax was going to be in town for Formula Drift Long Beach, so he wanted to shoot John’s car before FDLB. In Royal Origin fashion, we caravanned with 3 slammed cars to meet up with Dax.

    Formula Drift 002

    Vinh’s car looks amazing rolling.

    Formula Drift 006

    Perfect front fitment.

    Formula Drift 011

The star of the show. All glammed up and ready for the shoot.

    Formula Drift 012

Vinh’s here to take some of the spotlight.

    Formula Drift 017

On the way to the shoot, we encountered some problems…

    Formula Drift 018

Vinh got stuck on this 3-inch bump.

    Formula Drift 023

    Back on the road again.

    Formula Drift 021

    Formula Drift 025

We found this small strip of the highway that overlooked the freeway. It made for some crazy long exposure freeway shots.

    Formula Drift 037

Wish there were more cars on this freeway.

    Formula Drift 048

Stole some light from Dax while he was shooting. I even timed my camera at the same time as him. Haha.

    Formula Drift 044

Before Dax was ready to shoot, Kevin and I played around with light painting and got this pretty cool shot. I had to leave right after the shoot to go meet up with Yogi and Taryn. Taryn was visiting all the way from New Zealand and Yogi wanted to show her some neat food places.

    Formula Drift 054

It also turned into a mini car meet with some familiar faces like Daniel’s STI.

    Formula Drift 055

    Yogi’s bagged GS.

    Formula Drift 052

  • Living in FUCKING SURVIVAL

    Living in FUCKING SURVIVAL

We weren’t sure how this meet would turn out and honestly thought that the first spot we picked would be sufficient enough. Reason is because we used to have meets at Tastea and that lot is way smaller than the Genki Living spot. Nimo, Jennifer, and I were still on our way home from Vegas that evening and by 8:30PM, Alex texted me that the parking lot was already getting packed.  I just told him that we’ll figure it out when I get there, thinking it couldn’t have been that bad. I was so wrong.

    IMG_6404

The parking lot was so packed that it was difficult to even walk around. It was a cluster fuck of cars.

    IMG_6405

As soon as we arrived, we decided it was time to move to the second spot, which was M&M Donuts.
