“Another one” *with a DJ Khaled voice*… Another set from photos I never edited that were left in my memory card. I believe these were taken the day after I came back from H2Oi. Hayle was in OC doing some casting interview and wanted to go to Laguna Beach, and I never say no to a chance to shoot a sunset in my stylish flip flops for summer. Honestly, I never really appreciated going to the beach until Hayle kept dragging me all over South OC to see some of the nicest beaches that California has to offer. Now I just can’t wait to capture some beautiful sunsets because sunsets are proof that endings can be beautiful too.

Who knew paradise was just a 20 minute drive down south from my house.

What a time to be alive.

I could’ve died at this moment and would have been at peace with myself.

I decided to mess around with my new flash soft box and I’ve always wanted to do a legit sunset shoot, so this seemed like a perfect time to try with Hayle.

Smile! Because that is everyone’s best feature.

For a model, Hayle can be a shy girl sometimes. I was still glad I got some of these cool shots and I am definitely going back to perfect sunset portrait shoots.

The Big Day | Enjoy Sin

The big day was here, all the planning we’ve been doing for the past three months has led to this day. Even if the event wasn’t going to be successful, we were just happy to reunite with our friends in Vegas. It’s been a long time since those days we use to take turns on who visited who each weekend and that was the honeymoon stage of our friendship. Even though the honeymoon phase is over, we still have mad love for each other.

We spent most of the morning getting over our hangovers and trying to get a quick power nap before the meet. That is why we like our car meets late in the afternoon. Check out the crew in all black everything, Jeff didn’t get the memo.

Slopps is always in Vegas like he has a DJ residency at a club, so we weren’t surprised to see he took the trip from SOCAL to the meet.

Throughout the meet, we were on the prowl to interview people about the meet and other random things.

This time of the year is always the time where I stress the most and have the craziest anxiety attacks. This year however has been the least stressed for me with so much help this year, this meet went smoothly without me having to stress too much. Thank you to Kevin and HNRS for planning this collab, Shavi for working everything, VU with the coverage and giving us amazing IG videos, Nimo for taking care of us and giving us fun moments, Aron for all of the help, I notice all the small things you do for us and I’m truly grateful for it. Food Truck Meets | Food Adventures

On today’s food adventures, we took out your woman crush Wednesdays, Sara and Hayle to eat some delicious wieners.

Dogzilla one of my favorite food trucks of all time. I’ve been eating here since 2010 when they would be stationed in front of Sam Ash on Beach blvd. Crazy how fast time passes, but their food is still amazing.

I got the pillager pulled pork. The center was flavorful, but the bun was over bearing and dry. It made it hard to consume after a while and I just ended up eating the center only.

Vinh got the captain porko fries which was the better option among our two orders. They really mastered slow smoked pork here at Porko Rico BBQ.

Last on the list was Meow Meow Cafe, we’ve been here a couple times in the past and it was amazing, but I heard from Alyssa who lives down the street that this place changed ownership and is not as great anymore. Well, she was right…

Anyways, it was cool to put our phones down and just update each other on our lives.

Rise Lantern Festival 2014

These past two months, I’ve been blessed to experience beautiful things. I was in Japan for a month with close friends, I saw my favorite artist, The Weeknd perform live and now I end this amazing month with the Rise Lantern Festival. The Rise Lantern Festival is a festival where you release sky lanterns into the sky. Doing this alone is pretty cool, but just like eating at your favorite restaurant the experience is always better when you do it with some of your friends or in this case with 10,000 people. The event was held in the middle of jean dry lake bed, so just 20 minutes away from Las Vegas.

First stop we made as soon as we arrived was at Bachi Burger. Sadly, I was too hungry to remember to bring my camera in for some food porn, but here’s a photo from when I went to Instafame. The grass fed Miyagi burger is always on point.

Crazy how I’ve been going to Vegas since I was 19 and never really stopped to take a photo of this famous sign.

New friends Ashlyn, Mark, Leo and Denise that met us at Bachi burger. Strangers at first, but connected really quick over the love of food.

After a night of Fat Tuesdays and exploring we headed off to the Gold strike where our shuttle would take us to the the dry lake bed. Waiting in the long line wasn’t that bad because of the cloud porn.

As the sun started to set, the clouds looked even more beautiful. People in line were getting distracted by the sky and forgot to move forward.

After about 30 minutes of waiting in line, we were extremely excited to be on the shuttle.

The walk to the festival felt like a scene out of a horror movie.

We missed the thousand candle welcoming, but they had these cute signs to greet us.

It was pretty cool that they had yoga mats for us to sit on while we waited for the first release.

You could feel the excitement all around us when we were told we could start lighting up lanterns.

They said you need 4 people to light up a lantern, three to hold it and one to take a photo of the three.

The best part of photography is capturing a person’s authentic emotions in that moment.

The first release was fucking crazy. It actually made me put down my camera for a moment and just enjoy it.

This photo of Kristine and Ashlyn enjoying this special moment is by far my favorite photo that I’ve ever taken. I am very envious of these two, they were the couple of the weekend and reminded me how fun being in love can be. I saw the past me in them back when I use to dive straight into love, without a life vest and worries about how cold the water would be. Now a days I only test the waters with my toe.

I saw too many beautiful things on this night that my eyes were starting to have eyegasms and water kept on coming out. Thank you Rise for the memories.

On the way back from the event we were waiting in this ridiculously long line to get back on the shuttle, apparently the people who were suppose to work the shuttles just left, so it turned into chaos. The group decided that walking would be quicker because someone said it would only be a 4 mile walk? It ended up being 6 miles. The walk was nice because we were able to see the stars and I’ve actually wanted to go star gazing for the longest time, so the walk was enjoyable for me. Make the most out of every situation.

The next morning, we made our way up to Red Rock for some hiking and landscape photography.

There have only been about a half dozen genuinely important events in my life that had a positive effect on how I view the world. Rise Lantern festival has made it on my list, but it wasn’t the festival itself that did it. It was the adventure with some strangers that turned out to be awesome friends that did it. I’m going to miss waking up to laughter every morning and planning the next place to eat after we just ate. Hopefully, there will be more adventures in the future!

Hangs with Lowballers Japan

It’s crazy how just a simple piece of machinery can create amazing friendships. Most of the people in today’s post are dear friends of mine that I had an amazing opportunity to meet through our love for cars. Others I knew before cars, but having the same hobby solidified our friendship even more. In today’s post, Kazuki shot my car for an upcoming feature in a Japanese magazine(not sure which one) and we had the beautiful Hayle aka legs for days model for us. I wanted to rep for my city so we did the shoot on Main Street Garden Grove.

Wekfest San Jose 2013 | The Destination

This post was supposed to be posted last week, but due to technical difficulties with our old hosting server we had to delay it. Hopefully with this new host, we are able to accommodate all the traffic we’ve been getting. The day of the show seems like a blur to me. I felt so rush throughout the day from going to get change for the booth to making sure I had time to get coverage of the show. My mind was all over the place.

I wasn’t able to get as much coverage as I wanted because like previous Norcal Wekfest shows there was just so many people that were getting in the way of my shots. So, please bare with me on all my photos.

Pure VIP’s 2IS on CCW. I really liked the front splitter to the rear diffuser, I want to do something similar to this setup.

This Wekfest I saw a lot of crazy VIP builds and not the ones where they just have suspension, wheels and a JP knot. Real VIP builds with crazy attention to detail such as this LS460. I wish I had more time to fully check out all the VIP cars at the show, but my mind was rushing all over the place.

Another crazy VIP car is Sean from JDM Palace’s LS430. So VIP that the car gets chauffeured around.

Slammed Sundays

This is the beginning of something great, we collaborated with Illest Orange County on a monthly car meet that we dubbed Slammed Sundays. We might change the name somewhere down the road, so tune in on the development of this meet. It will be held on the second Sunday of every month and we will have food trucks and Illest will be having in store promotions for those who attend.
