    Malibuya | Food Adventures

The type of friends I have around me are the ones that you can just call up and in a moments notice, you’re on the way to an adventure in Malibu. This is exactly what happened when Jenn a.k.a “fortheloveoficecream” hit me up to go on a mini hike in Malibu.

    015 (3)

Before dealing with the LA traffic, we decided to stop by Papa Cristo’s to fill up our empty stomachs.

Sketch back entrance into Papa Cristo’s.

    012 (3)

Papa Cristo’s is a sit down restaurant where you order your food from the kitchen and they bring it out to you to your table.

    005 (3)

I got the lamb gyro, which was excellent. The meat looked dry, but it was very moist.

    006 (3)

    BBQ Chicken pizza.

    003 (3)

    Fresh Greek bakery goods.

    016 (3)

Cruising along the Pacific Coast Highway, watching the sunsets and being stuck in traffic was amazing. 021 (3)

We finally made it to El Matador beach and boy was it a beautiful sight.

    122 (2)

The colors of the beach gave me so much feels.

After a long day of adventuring, we came to a decision to go eat Korean BBQ at Hae Jang Chon.

    152 (2)

The thinly sliced pork belly was delicious.

    150 (2)

    Grill is cleaned with onions!

    149 (2)

    Galbi and bulgogoi.

    147 (2)

Can’t go wrong with some brisket.

    144 (2)

    154 (2)

At the end of the meal, the server comes out and makes some bomb kimchi fried rice for you. Excellent service.

    139 (2)

Can’t have a day full of awesome foods without ending it with gelato!

    135 (2)

We stopped by Grom for their 100% natural gelato.

    136 (2)

Very interesting setup as they cover all of their gelatos.

    138 (2)
A little bite more pricey than regular gelato, but it was rich in flavor. I would definitely come back whenever I’m back in Malibu. That’s it for now, see you on the next food adventure.

4th Street Market, Poke Etc | Food Adventures

Being my friend means risking the chance of being obese. That’s why I always say do things in moderation, meaning hang out with me only once a week.

009 (2)Today me and Vinh explored Poke ETC which is extremely close to my work.
    015 (2)

A variety of options to choose here at this small market.

    014 (2)

    012 (2)

I’m pretty sure I’m the reason why Vinh can’t stay on his diet.

    011 (2)

    Fresh poke.

    010 (2)

They had everything from wasabi poke to kimchi poke.

    020 (2)

You can buy it by the pound here too!

    016 (2)

I ended up getting the aloha combo which comes with your choice of poke and kalua pork. It was delicious for me and I definitely became a fan! I could go here for lunch everyday.

    4thstreet 036

Later that night I went downtown and explored Santa Ana with Derek.

    4thstreet 035

It always amazes me how graffiti artists paint these walls.

    4thstreet 020

Santa Ana has changed immensely over the years with new bars, restaurants and now with the 4th street market, the city is bringing life back into downtown Santa Ana.

Food Truck Meets | Food Adventures

On today’s food adventures, we took out your woman crush Wednesdays, Sara and Hayle to eat some delicious wieners.

    027

The ladies getting mesmerized by the wieners.

    030

First time Sara wasn’t ready for a photo and Vinh was.

    031

Hayle also always alert for a photo op.

    032

Dogzilla one of my favorite food trucks of all time. I’ve been eating here since 2010 when they would be stationed in front of Sam Ash on Beach blvd. Crazy how fast time passes, but their food is still amazing.

    035

Sara telling us about her patients who get worms in their vagina’s right before our food came out.

    036

I got the spicy dogzilla combo with an egg on top.

    040

How it looks with no egg.

    043

I hope when you google image search Sara Choi this photo pops up.

    045

Some more shots of the deliciousness.

    049

    051

     It’s a wiener party.

    054 058

The next stop would be Porko Rico BBQ. Get it? Puerto Rico – Porko Rico.

    060

When bae is about to buy you food.

    062

I got the pillager pulled pork. The center was flavorful, but the bun was over bearing and dry. It made it hard to consume after a while and I just ended up eating the center only.

    067

Vinh got the captain porko fries which was the better option among our two orders. They really mastered slow smoked pork here at Porko Rico BBQ.

    072

Last on the list was Meow Meow Cafe, we’ve been here a couple times in the past and it was amazing, but I heard from Alyssa who lives down the street that this place changed ownership and is not as great anymore. Well, she was right…

    074

Anyways, it was cool to put our phones down and just update each other on our lives.

    075 076

    Tra House | Food Adventures

Tra House has come a long way since it opened back in 2012. It use to be strictly a boba shop and then out of no where evolved into a full blown restaurant. Tra House is known for making Vietnamese dishes with a little twist to it, so if you’re a Vietnamese food fanatic and you eat here you’re going to be mind blown.

    885

This is my favorite photo ever.

    858

Garlic shrimp noodles. Pretty basic, but the shrimp was on point. I just wanted some dry noodles to eat.

    860

Chicken vermicelli with egg rolls. Can’t go wrong with this combination.

    863882

When Vietnamese people think meat with baguette bread, they automatically think of banh mi sandwiches. When ordering this dish we did not expect it to come out like a pizza. Pretty good.

    884887

Crispy rice with Chinese sausages. We were expecting a bowl of fried rice with sausages. This was a pleasant surprise and also good.

    892

Bo Ne. A slap of steak with tater tots and a fried egg. Taste delicious.

Great place to have dinner and the place has a nice vibe to it. Also the drinks here are really good too. Try the New Yorker.

  • The Albright | Food Adventures

    The Albright | Food Adventures

On my quest to become a Yelp Elite, I’m going to be blogging here and there about restaurants that I eat at because my life is more than cars and getting mad bitches. Just kidding about the last part, anyways I’ll be posting more food photos on here and reviews so i can just copy and paste it into my Yelp reviews. After a long day of adventuring we found ourselves at Santa Monica pier and decided to check out The Albright.

    232

The babe, Abbitt always down to go eat with me.

    243

    Live in the moment Derek.

    233

    260

It’s always cool to go with a bunch of friends and fill the table with delicious food.

    249

Ryo getting that food bukkake shot.

    252

Abbitt got the fish and chips which was pretty good, Derek went with the basic fish tacos which we’re actually good too and Ryo had the baked salmon which was mediocre to me. I got the tuna melt with clam chowder bread bowl.

    235

The tuna melt tasted pretty basic like I could make it at home and I hate eating something that I know I could make at home. The clam chowder on the other hand was delicious. Definitely get the clam chowder when you eat here. Overall, it’s a cool place to eat if you’re in Santa Monica because it’s right on the pier. Clam chowder and anything deep fried is a must get. I should really take more detailed photos the next time I review a restaurant. Not bad for the first time?
