Some photos of my time in Tokyo in January. Luckily, I was there before the corona virus hit, so my travel bug is definitely dead.

Udon in the mourning at Hanamaru.

Spotted a RWB Porsche in Harajuku.

Simon looks like a slut, but he’s a good boy.

Shibuya during the day feels empty.

Found a new viewpoint of the crossing. Only thing that sucked it cost $15.

Met up with Sara and we had to do a impromptu photo shoot.

Rodney took me to his favorite omurice spot and it did not disappoint.

    Japan in a nutshell. Omucarbonara.

Every year I don’t plan on surprising my wife with a surprise birthday dinner, I just don’t tell her we’re having one. This year we went to Gem Dining in Fountain Valley and got to try some of their tasty fusion foods.

    Bone marrow elote.

Egg yolk pasta and beef tongue fried rice.

    Tomahawk steak.

My favorite was the beef tongue. I need to go back for this.

    Happy Birthday Julia.

The next morning we went on the Pioneer Town to Big Bear trail to see some snow.

Rolling out deep from left to right Angelo’s 4 Runner, my GX470, Taylor’s Tacoma, Shavi’s 4Runner and Justin’s Tacoma.

All the snow seemed to have melted, but luckily we had some mud to play in.

We saw this big mud pit and wanted to get some dope photos.

We grossly misjudged how deep this mud pit was. Look how deep it gets!!

    Angelo still sent it!

Moe’s license plate barely hanging on after driving through the mud lake.

    Cheers to not getting stuck.

Thanks for a fun Saturday morning!

A Quick Trip to SF | Daily Life

My wife woke up one morning and said she needed an adventure, so being the amazing husband that I am, I planned a last minute trip to the bay. Luckily, Hayle had just moved into her apartment and had a spot for us to crash. She was also willing to be our tour guide that weekend.

Our first stop was Devil’s Teeth Baking Company for their famous breakfast sandwiches.

    The look of satisfaction.

    Amazing.

Devil’s Teeth is also known for their fresh cinnamon rolls.

We did a quick hipster photo shoot, Hayle was trying to look fresh with the fruit.

Next we went to Sutro Baths where no one bathes. I was at the right place because I didn’t shower that morning.

Fun fact this is where Kyren asked Hayle to be his girlfriend. Kyren: So, do you want to go out? Hayle: We’re already out…

    Couple’s goals.

We’re not as photogenic as Hayle and Kyren..

After getting exhausted from walking up these steps, we were glad we didn’t go to the 15 mile hike that we had planned.

Our next stop would be the California Academy of Science.

Albino alligator. He’s probably the one that talks to the cops when he’s with his other gator friends.

It’s crazy how there is a different environment in each section of the building.

Hayle and Julia enjoy looking at fish swimming and thinking about eating sushi for dinner.

We went into the planetarium and immediately napped.

For lunch, we went to Brenda’s French Soul Food for some craw fish beignets.

Can you tell we really liked it?

    Fried chicken benedict!

The next day we met up with Clinton, Vinh and Rica for Pepper Lunch! One of my favorite restaurants in NorCal and my number one priority when I’m up here.

    So simple yet so delicious.

After lunch, we  made the journey to Pleasonton for Meadowlark Dairy.

Meadowlark dairy has the best soft serve I have ever tasted.

    Orgasm in your mouth.

    Kyren is a lucky man.

Afterwards, we spotted this slammed IS300 on the way to Wekfest.. You can check out the coverage here..

Wekfest San Jose 2018 | Event Coverage

After Wekfest, we met up with Nimo and the boys for Spartan’s crispy tacos.

Nimo ended up doing a suicide trip just for Wekfest. Crazy guy.

The next morning we went to Facebook to visit Hayle at work for lunch.

I don’t even like sparkling water, but I took one because it was free.

Our tour guide and the person who always reacts and answers the tour guide.

Facebook has snack stations all over the campus for employees to grab for free. Here we have a Filipino mom stuffing her backpack with chips.

We got some photos with the infamous Instagram booth.

This campus ridiculous. They have restaurants everywhere for employees to eat for free.

An arcade and a place to watch all the sports.

We went to the burger shack for their custom burgers.

Thanks Hayle for being the best host! Get me a job at Facebook!

    Spontaneous adventures are the best.

  • Japan Again Part 3 | RO Explore

Japan Again Part 3 | RO Explore

This past Japan trip I wanted to show my wife everything I have ever experienced from my past 7 trips to Japan and that meant I would need to condense 7 Japan trips into one week. We took the earliest train from Tokyo to Hiroshima so we could visit the Hiroshima Memorial Museum and be able to get dinner in Osaka.

Convenience store food is still the best thing about Japan.

I really like public transportation in Japan and the architecture at small train stations.

Hiroshima Memorial Museum.  I decided I didn’t want to experience the sadness of the memorial museum again and opted to go explore around the area while the rest went to the museum.

Very relaxing and mellow mood around this area. Also loved the cherry blossoms everywhere.

Always a good time for some green tea soft serve.

After the museum, we headed back up north to Osaka and spotted this cross dresser with manlier legs than me.

I love capturing photos of people just going about their business here. I’m kind of a creep..

We got settled in our little apartment before heading out to explore Osaka. Damn this place was condensed.

Coffee trip 123109238 for Abbitt. Abbitt’s blood is mostly caffeine.

Spotted this Civic running a muck inside the small streets of Dotonburi.

Dotonburi for one of the best street food Osaka has to offer.

Gotta get a photo with the Glico man.

Abbitt wanted this soft serve because it looked cool, but it ended up tasting bad.

Everyone knocked the fuck out, except this American.

The next morning we went to Kyoto to check out the old architecture of Gion City.

Next on the list was the Inari Shrine, I’ve been to this place almost on every trip to Japan. This place still puts me in awe whenever I visit.

This lady was pushing her Shiba around in a stroller, so awesome.

The street food at the Inari Shrine is so good and affordable. Check out how much Yakisoba you can get for 400 yen.

Abbitt dying of food coma and decided to lay down while we wait for our train.

The Golden Temple. A must see and to get the green tea ice cream.

I love finding gems like this BMW wagon on SSRs on the way to dinner.

I found this place on Trip Advisor and I really wanted to check it out because the ramen is literally fire.

    No ramen no life.

Love this shot of Julia, the bokeh is amazing.

Made it back to Tokyo and met up with Ryo and this girl he’s trying to get at for dinner. Super cute couple.

Krstina was trying to say his friend was cute by saying she was “kawaii”, but Krstina was pronouncing it “Kowaii” which means scary. So she was confused the whole night why this girl was calling me scary.

Thanks Ryo for dinner and it was great seeing you again.

Check back for part 4 of our trip..

We decided to go up to Sacramento because Vinh Luong planned a river rafting trip for Memorial day weekend. That meant there would be a fun road trip up on the way up. We had a big group of 11 coming up for river rafting, but we all decided to go at different times. Nimo, Shavi, Julia and I ventured up to NorCal on our own, but first we decided to stop by our old stomping grounds Guppy’s Anaheim Hills for dinner.

The last existing Guppys in SoCal.

Woke up in Milpitas and immediately went to Pepper Lunch. Guess that jaw?

Krstina eating a salad is so elegant.

Don’t forget the garlic butter when you’re at Pepper Lunch!

Mace sad he can’t get any.

Nimo’s face when he’s about to eat you out, I mean eat ice cream.

Clinton really enjoying his ice cream and Krstina confused on how you can reuse a tenga.

Found the “Truffle Man” at Dolares Park.

    Can you smile Shavi? Damn.

Hiked up Tamalpais Mountain to catch a sunset.

Nimo dying from the hike up.

    Hayle ready for food.

    Almost perfect sunset…

Now perfect… Abbitt brought us up here to propose to Krstina and she said yes! Congrats Abbitt and Krstina!

The best thing about this proposal is that Mace and Maui are in it.

Hayle smiling from the all the good vibes.

    The many faces of Hayle.

    Perfection.

    Shavi’s new okcupid photo.

    Krstina glowing from the proposal.

A big congrats to Abbitt and Krstina and I was so glad I was there to witness it. Love you guys and hope you have a long and happy life!

Japan Again Part 2 | RO Explore

Part two of our adventure begins with an early morning to get some ramen and explore more of Tokyo..

Crazy how many people are up so early for work and school.

    Foot traffic is crazy.

Blue Bottle to get the day started.

First time at Ichiran ramen, it’s one of those spots where eating by yourself is cool.

But we were talking the whole time.

Took a trip to Roppongi Hills to see the view of the Tokyo Tower.

Marvel had a installation at Roppongi Hills with cool Marvel stuff we couldn’t take photos of.

Nearby we stumbled upon the Yayoi Kusama art show.

I was told not to shoot anymore photos after this.

It’s fun to do bad things.

Had an early day and decided to rest up early to get us prepared for our 5AM trip to Osaka.

My favorite thing to do is be out in the wilderness where mass murderers and bears can come out to kill you without any way of calling for help because you know in all movies police or any government aid in the wilderness are pretty much useless. But for my wife’s happiness, I risked my safety and we planned a trip out to Zion National Park with Chivas, Shavi, Nimo, Derek, Polly, Angelo and Bonnie. Most of my photos will be covering the second day of the trip, since I wasn’t able to make it to the first day where everyone went off-roading.

Afterwards we got some Mexican ice cream and chamangos from there we decided to go back into SF to go check out Muir woods.

    DSC03846

Trees are cool and trees are cooler when they’re super tall, but Muir woods wasn’t as exciting as I thought it would be. I’m actually not sure what I was expecting, probably the monkeys from Planet of the Apes to come out and try to kill us or something. At least it was free.

I would go here for portrait shoots, but no one was looking pretty today or wearing HOODRATstuff.

    Oh hey, Hayle.

This will be good photoshop material.

The main reason I wanted to go to SF was to eat ice cream and we finally got it at Mitchell’s ice cream.

    Dog backpacks, now that’s new.

    DSC03922

Mitchell’s sells their own ice cream in half gallons. Pretty neat.

    DSC03925

    Shavi approves.

    DSC03926

Hayle also approves or she got hit in the eye with something and she’s trying to get it out with her thumb.

    DSC03928

Even when it was cold, people were still in line to get some ice cream here.

    DSC03923

What is different about Mitchell’s is that they make you get a number and then they call you up to be serviced. Actually works a lot better than a line.

It was finally our time to shine and of course we tried all of the flavors.

    Beautiful.DSC03938

I actually forgot what I got, but all the flavors there are really good and the consistency of the ice cream is superb.

We met up with Vinh and the rest of the group and drove up to the hills of Milpitas to do some HOODRATstuff and check out the view.
