Royal Origin Presents GIVING SZN | Event Coverage

Sorry for the late coverage of our Giving SZN event with Greddy Performance! Sometimes Stance Magazine request photos for events I go to and I can’t release the photos until the magazine releases. Check out this month’s Stance Magazine for the coverage of this event!

The prize everyone was going for was this racing suit that was worn by Ken Gushi during the 2018 Formula Drift season. Luckily the person who won also fit the suit!

We were able to collect 1,907 lbs of canned food for South County Outreach! A big thank you to all of the vendors who supported this event and to Greddy Performance for hosting the event.

Also shout out to Kevin for coming to us with this idea and planning everything! Thank you to everyone who came out and we wish you all the good fortune and success for 2019! See ya’ll at our next event!

SHUTTER SPACE | EVENT COVERAGE

Every year Toyo Tires hosts a photography gallery event called “Shutter Space”, where they show some of the best automotive photography. The event happened to be down the street from where I live, so me and some of the boys decided to come and check it out.

Greddy Racing FRS | Car Feature

I got an opportunity to shoot the Greddy FRS for some of their future promo work. Check it out and good luck to Ken Gushi and the Greddy Team in this year’s Formula Drift season.

We got permission to shoot at the SEMA garage and use all of their equipment. Kenji and Ben putting tire stickers on for the shoot.

This livery was designed by one of our own Kevin Sanchez. It looks so good.

Ken ran a marathon the day before and was feeling the pain. Amazing that he endured the soreness for this shoot.

The Unveiling | IDLDesign USA

It seems like every year I’m always going through a mundane cycle. Every year I would be attending the same shows and see nothing different in the car scene. This year however I haven’t been to any shows, so everything looks crazy to me. Something crazy in particular was floating around the internet weeks before SEMA was a render of Mikey from Phaze 2/IDL Design’s Porsche in a new body kit by Old New JP. The design got rid of the Porsche’s headlights and added some vents to the front fender with all of the lights being mounted on the front bumper. To be honest, the render did not look good at all when I first saw it, but when Mikey invited us to come out to the unveiling BBQ, we saw something completely different than the basic render.

We got to witness the first Old New JP Porsche in the states. This car is so well put together from the fitment of the wheels to the interior setup. Everything is literally on point.

The front end grows on you instantly like weeds in a garden.

Phaze 2 is known for breaking the internet with their cars. Make sure after this post you go reset your modem.

This rear shot is so money. Deep wheels and a fat ass.

Some of the guys and our girlfriends came out to the BBQ to see the sea green beast.

Greddy Pandem E36 | Wekfest Prep

Kevin recently collaborated with his parent company Greddy on his latest project BMW E36. The last build was the red Honda S2000 that we posted here often. The E36 will demonstrate the latest Greddy Performance products that are offered in the automotive market with the finalization of the build at SEMA 2016 in November.

You can always spot these Rocket Bunny Lexus pair at the Greddy Headquarters in Irvine, California.

Formula Drift driver Ken Gushi’s Scion Racing Greddy Racing FRS.

New Toyota Racing livery, which was first demonstrated at NASCAR in Sonoma, Washington.

The heart of Ken Gushi’s FRS is this Greddy powered 2JZ-GTE.

The raw Rocket Bunny Pandem BMW E36 parts ready to be fitted on Kevin’s car.

Another day at Greddy HQ, and this time spotted one of two LC500, which is coming from concept to reality.

Looks good from the front, but the rear is quite questionable. Its here at Greddy HQ for some research and development since Greddy has a good relationship with Lexus.

The results of building this in about a month or so, which is pretty incredible. Ready for its first show case at Wekfest San Jose.

Truly love how the Rocket Bunny Pandem kit extenuates all the lines that were already standard to the E36 platform.

Good job to Kevin for working on this build in such a short amount of time. Many late nights went into this, and there are many more nights to come, especially with the next phase of the build being a 2JZ-GTE build. Also, congratulations for getting 2nd place best BMW at Wekfest San Jose 2016.

RO in Australia | Fitted Friday III

I recently had the opportunity, thanks to Tarik at Built To Order, to go to Sydney, Australia to transport custom made trophies from California, and take pictures for a car meet called, Fitted Friday III. And thank you to Tarik, his family, and friends for showing me Australian car culture and for showing me around Sydney.

I started out my journey getting informed that I needed to go to Australia immediately, and the very next day. So, packed up my bags, and lost a day getting to Sydney. I always wanted to go to to Australia, just never thought it would be so soon, and so unprepared.

The moment I arrived into Sydney, it was already the day of the car meet. Fitted Friday III is a mega car meet held Friday night that shows a vast variety of Australian automotive culture. For someone who knows nearly nothing about the culture down here, this meet was filled with premium examples of what the current car culture is like.

SPOCOM 2015 | Event Coverage

Better late than never! Not sure why I lagged so hard on posting this coverage because I actually enjoyed how the photos came out of my Minolta 24-85mm lens. The lens is small and it has a great range, but the best thing about it was that it only cost me $50 for this lens on eBay. Fucking deals. Anyways, it’s been about two years since I’ve been to my last SPOCOM. SPOCOM to me is a car show that uses models as their main attraction with the glits and glam of musical performances and dance competitions. I think most people bring their cars to this show because they want to win the big sword trophies which I’ve secretly always wanted.

The crowd at SPOCOM is interesting, seems like they are not really into cars and are more into just being somewhere that they think is cool. The other portion of the crowd are the creeper photographer dudes. These guys are literally at every event, they are the hardcore fans of Import models similar to the Japanese idol otakus. These guys are the type of dudes that pay webcam girls that don’t strip. I’m a creeper photographer myself, but I’m more into watching these guys interact with the models. All in all everyone has their own demons, so who am I to judge? Do you. Anyways, on to the car coverage…

I always thought a wider 350/370z would look like a bubble with a wide body kit on it, but this kit pulls it off nicely.

The Wek Bowl | Wekfest San Jose

Wekfest is what I believed to be one of the top shows in the United States right now. That’s one of the reasons why we attend, display and vend at this show. It’s strictly all about the love of cars and nothing more. That’s why we fuck with you Wekfest. We start the day with us coming in 3 hours before the show starts to get the booth ready for the attendees.

I remember seeing this S5 at SOWO! It’s crazy how some people drive their cars all across the country for car shows. Maybe this will inspire us to do the Royal Origin world tour.

I first fell in love with this GS last year at Wekfest, glad to see it is still in good condition despite it being a drift car.

This Sienna is fucking cool. Laid out with a nice matte orange vinly wrap and nice fitting wheels, it’s pretty much perfect.

Now time for some expensive builds.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen this blue RWB before and it doesn’t look like it has a name either. Either way it’s nice to see a RWB without the sticker bombs.

Floss Design unveiled his S13 Rocket Bunny at Wekfest.

The green and orange mix is an interesting color way and definitely makes it stand out among the other Rocket Bunny S13s out there.

This IS300 is super crazy sporting a BN Sports kit on some flares to fit a nice set of Work Equips and to power it all is a LS1. One of goals was to do an LS1 swap into my old IS300.

Wekfest San Jose 8.10.14

Wekfest in Northern California has always been the show to attend to get inspiration for my own car build. Hundreds of elite car owners from the surrounding area always attend and on top of that Wekfest also screens the cars before they can even bring their car to the venue. This event is the place to be at and showing your car is a blessing within itself. I didn’t get much coverage of the show itself because I don’t own a wide angle lens yet and this year for some reason parts of the show were really cramp and made it very difficult to shoot.

I wanted to get photos of the show cars in a natural habitat like on the streets. Cars always look a thousand times better when they’re rolling. I joined the many car show attendees outside of the venue to watch everyone roll out.

Where did the front bumper go?

Now that is a good girlfriend, she had to walk out of the venue and a couple of blocks to bring her boyfriend’s front bumper to him.

Sadly, I think this will be the last time we’ll be at the Norcal Wekfest event. The cost and stress of everything doesn’t seem worth it.
