    Familiar Faces | Daily life

We got a familiar face that visited us this week, all the way from North Carolina. Big old Vinh. He was in town for his mom’s birthday and had time to hang with us. We decided to go out to Garden Grove Main Street for some matcha foam tea.

Late night hangs like we use to do.

Laugh at the guy that’s gonna have BMW problems soon..

Rodney’s Cressida has been looking real good with the rear bumper on.

    Biggie and smalls.

    Underground Kings available on shop.royal-origin.com.

Andy brought out the GS and traded me players in fantasy football. What a great man.

I brought out the IS to flex a bit tonight.

In love with my leaking headlights.

    714 to Shavi’s Birthday | Daily Life

Finally getting my life organized after moving to a new place. Glad to say I reached my goal of buying a house this year, it’s not much, but hopefully me and my wife will build our dream home one day. I also started working at 714 Tires, so my schedule is little bit hard to get use to. Let me give you a quick glimpse of my daily life…dsc02442

6AM I wake up to let my dog out to pee. This gang of cats wait outside every morning to get a chance to bang my wife’s cat.

    dsc02440

    Just collecting dust everyday…

I feel like when I say I’m done with my car, there’s always something more I want to do. I don’t know why, but my car looks plain to me.

Came into work at 714 Tires and everyone was hard at working installing suspension arms left and right. Hit them up if you guys need any coil overs or suspension arm installations!

    dsc02685

Jason recently got a RB20 from Ben at Greddy. He’s planning to put this thing in his S13 coupe.

    dsc02688dsc02702

Tightlox lug nuts, another venture for the RO bros. Available at 714 tires and soon on our online store.

Later that night, we celebrated Shavi’s birthday at Star BBQ.

It’s always great to put names to faces, I have always seen the water mark “Kevin Chow Photography” and followed Kevin on Instagram for the longest time, but we’ve never met. Kevin recently hit me up and said he would be in town and wanted to meet up. We got together and did what normal automotive photographers do and we shot some cars. DSC08357

Mikey Dang met us up and brought out his Amuse 370z. We took Kevin to the famous TK Plaza where the Fast and Furious was shot.

Customizing with Rhino | Car Nights

Lately, I’ve been spending most of my time at Rhino Customs where Rodney works. We’ve been doing small stuff to my IS, so it could look presentable. Rodney has helped me mount tires, install bumpers, grills, headlights and so much more. Thanks Rodney for all the help! Building a car really does bring friends together.

    530

Rodney applying some black vinyl to my fenders to see how it’ll look. It didn’t look good…

    Looking better everyday.

    That logo..

    547

I thought it would be cool to do some light painting in the shop, little did I know I really suck at light painting.

    582

We also spent some time putting each other’s cars together. Like installing Abbitt’s lift for his truck.

Rodney teaching Abbitt how to mount tires.

We also had to install Rodney’s coil overs and mount his tires.

None of us knew how to stretch tires and we did the only thing we know how to do. Apply a little #HOODRATstuff to it.

    609

and a lot of brake fluid and a torch..

    613

Googling how to stretch a tire…

    618

We ended up figuring it all out and actually got all the tires mounted.

  • Night Magic

    Night Magic

First like, first comment, first post this post will be all about the first of everything for 2015. Rang in the new year doing our usual hoodratstuff and basically got nothing done.

    033

When the sun comes down the hoodrats come out to play.

    035

I’ve been wanting to go out to take photos of stars for the longest time. Hanging out in Jordan’s neighborhood gave me the motivation because Villa Park neighborhoods are pitch black with no street lights. Perfect for star gazing.

    037

This reminds me of a great poem I saw the other day.

    038

You were red. You liked me cause I was blue. You touched me and suddenly I was a lilac sky and you decided that purple just wasn’t for you.

    040

After some failed attempts to take photos of the stars, we decided that it would be fun to try to light paint. Of course, we never come prepared, so we had to figure out some hoodratstuff.

    041

We had the power of two IPhone 5S with 11%-30% battery life to help us light paint some cars. Even though the first couple of trials gave us some horrendous outcomes, we finally got it together in the next couple of shots.

    043

Pretty good I do say so myself for someone who can’t afford lighting equipment and never really light painted.

    045

For some reason, we thought it would be funny to shoot this photo. JDM sideways parked trashcans are cool right?

    046

Went down the street and just light painted anything that had wheels on it including Shavi’s daily M30. This car has some crazy stuff coming soon and I’m glad that Shavi will use this photo for transformation Tuesdays one day.

    047

Next car was Jordan’s dad’s Mercedes, Jordan sent this photo to his dad and his dad didn’t even recognize his own car and said it was a pretty nice Mercedes.

    048

Derek’s car was probably the worst car to light paint with it. The black adsorbed all of the light lines and that shit took forever to photoshop out.

    068

    050

Final result. Derek’s car is still ugly.

    081

    051

Double light painting! What does it mean?! (2 IPhone 5S and 2 IPhone 6 were used for this shot)

    054

    072

    073

I want this to be our thing so bad. Shooting product photos on top of a trashcan.

    078

Not bad eh? I would promote buying this plate, but we already sold out.

    060

We decided that Derek needed an album cover for his beat mixes and maybe a new facebook profile photo.

    059

Reppin HOODRATstuff til he stops working at a Thai restaurant.

  • The Impossible Will Take a While Part 2

The Impossible Will Take a While Part 2

How did I end up here? I promised myself I wouldn’t do this to myself, but here I am with two modified cars; both not being able to get into my favorite Dim Sum restaurant plaza. Both cars demanding the attention of my wallet and are both equally important to me. Sometimes I feel like I’m in a relationship with two controlling bitches, hopefully I can turn these hoes into domesticated housewives..

    IMG_7617

This photo is an accurate summary on what’s going on with my SC400 aka “Dirty Diana”. Always something to fix..

    005

    014

My IS250 aka Cleopatra has been pretty good to me until of late when she decided that she didn’t want to wear shoes anymore when running..

    001-2

     How she looks currently…

    002

One night when we were working on my car, we forgot to torque the wheels down and when I drove off the wheel just flew off. The wheel hit another car before flying into a random neighborhood. I had to run at least 30 meters before finding my wheel just chilling on a curb in front of someone’s house.

The sheer absurdity of sprinting after your own wheel, like some bizarre relay race, makes for a story you’ll never forget. But in the moment, all you can think about is the damage—both to your car and the unlucky vehicle caught in the wheel’s trajectory.

It’s a sobering reminder of how small mistakes can lead to bigger consequences, and how easily they can spiral out of control. Thankfully, no one was hurt this time, but not every incident ends that way.

When accidents escalate, especially those involving other vehicles, the fallout can be overwhelming. This is where someone like Mathew Minsky becomes a vital ally. Whether you’re dealing with property damage, insurance disputes, or potential liability, having an experienced car accident lawyer on your side can turn a nightmare into something manageable.

Mathew’s expertise ensures that the legal and financial complexities are handled professionally, allowing you to focus on moving forward.

    018

I was really surprised I wasn’t angry at all about what happened. It was probably because my headlights were tinted that day and they looked so damn good.

    016

Time and money will always fix a broken heart… or anything that is broken.

    013

I have to admit my rear end has never looked so aggressive.

  • YEAR V

    YEAR V

Last Saturday, we celebrated Joey Lee’s fifth year of running The Chronicles. If you never heard of his site then you probably don’t know what porn is either. In which case I suggest to check out his site stickydiljoe.com and xvideos.com. I’m a big fan boy of Joey’s work because he always has really good content on his site and gets great coverage at every automotive event. So, if you love cars and need a good read after being on xvideos his site is the place to go. Vinh, Keith and I showed at Year V with some of the Vegas guys, it was pretty exciting because Vinh and Chivas who both had to rebuild their engines would be debuting their cars at Year V.

  • The Pursuit 3.

    The Pursuit 3.

The Pursuit 3 hosted by Longo Lexus is one of the biggest Lexus gatherings. The Pursuit is like Eibach for Lexus owners. Every year, they offer free drag racing for the day, In-N-Out and thousands of dollars worth of raffle prizes it’s a no wonder that people from all over the United States come to attend this meet. Lucky for me it was only a 30 minute drive to get there and I got to roll hella deep with Erick, Daniel, Berlin and local Club Lexus members. The first thing I saw was an onslaught of Lexuses, felt like I was at a dealership and all the cars were modded.

and yes, your vision isn’t going bad that is a PINK IS300.
