Tokyo Auto Salon 2020 | Event Coverage

Imagine quitting your job and forgetting you still have a Japan trip planned with your ex-employer. Welp, that’s exactly what I did on this year’s Japan trip. Every time I’m in some sort of cross road in my life, a journey to Japan always happens. This year I was more excited to hang out with Ryo since his job was a lot more flexible than previous years. He was actually able to hang out with us and take us on some food adventures which will be up soon! Ryo picked us up bright and early because he didn’t want to get stuck in the Friday morning TAS traffic.

You know you’re going to a dope car event when there are nice cars en route to the show.

The driver was a older gentlemen, I wish my grandpa was this cool.

The parking lot is always lit at Tokyo Auto Salon.

Thhis Mark X on TE-37s is just amazing!

90’s Era Supra vs 2020’s Supra.

I feel like my neck can twist a 360 from getting my neck broken by all the sick cars in the lot.

Inside was even more magical with cars from the top companies in Japan. These are the people who get us to spend on some dumb ass shit, so now it’s impossible for me to keep a car stock. Check out this sick Ford GT Development (GTD) Ford GT40 replica from Liberty Walk.

BN Sports had some sick drift builds like this wide RX7.

So cool to see your friend’s products at an event in Japan. Nice job Reggie!

That tow sticker is hilarious to me for some reason on this ready to drift R32.

Man how do they build such nice cars. I can’t even change my window wiper..

When soccer moms wanna flex too.

This FRS has such futuristic body lines reminds me of the Tesla Truck or a Gundam.

This year Tokyo Auto Salon collabed with Hello Kitty. A lot of cool merch was available for purchase.

When you really hate your neighborhood.

Something beautiful about a line of LED tail lights are near each other.

Car Modify Wonder cars are a dream come true. I hope to build my SC just 10% of this and I would be really happy.

The A90 Supra with HKS livery had to be done of course and it looks amazing.

Rodney was ready to accept a bukkake tsunami from his drift hero.

Please buy from shop.royal-origin.com. I need to spend my money on Japanese car parts.

Is it weird to have as a goal is to own a 326 Power kitted car? Like full suspension, body kit and same wheel fitment. It would never leave my driveway, but it would be super dope to own.

Honestly, I’m sure I missed out on a lot of cool cars, but the general audience were about to come in, so we decided to leave early because taking photos without the frenzy of the crowd would be impossible. Please stay tuned for more Japan posts!

    SPOCOM 2015 | Event Coverage

Better late than never! Not sure why I lagged so hard on posting this coverage because I actually enjoyed how the photos came out of my Minolta 24-85mm lens. The lens is small and it has a great range, but the best thing about it was that it only cost me $50 for this lens on eBay. Fucking deals. Anyways, it’s been about two years since I’ve been to my last SPOCOM. SPOCOM to me is a car show that uses models as their main attraction with the glits and glam of musical performances and dance competitions. I think most people bring their cars to this show because they want to win the big sword trophies which I’ve secretly always wanted.

The crowd at SPOCOM is interesting, seems like they are not really into cars and are more into just being somewhere that they think is cool. The other portion of the crowd are the creeper photographer dudes. These guys are literally at every event, they are the hardcore fans of Import models similar to the Japanese idol otakus. These guys are the type of dudes that pay webcam girls that don’t strip. I’m a creeper photographer myself, but I’m more into watching these guys interact with the models. All in all everyone has their own demons, so who am I to judge? Do you. Anyways, on to the car coverage…

The Wek Bowl | Wekfest San Jose

Wekfest is what I believed to be one of the top shows in the United States right now. That’s one of the reasons why we attend, display and vend at this show. It’s strictly all about the love of cars and nothing more. That’s why we fuck with you Wekfest. We start the day with us coming in 3 hours before the show starts to get the booth ready for the attendees.

    Wekfest San Jose 8.10.14

Wekfest in Northern California has always been the show to attend to get inspiration for my own car build. Hundreds of elite car owners from the surrounding area always attend and on top of that Wekfest also screens the cars before they can even bring their car to the venue. This event is the place to be at and showing your car is a blessing within itself. I didn’t get much coverage of the show itself because I don’t own a wide angle lens yet and this year for some reason parts of the show were really cramp and made it very difficult to shoot.

    Phat take notes.

    wfsj 056

Keith’s IS300 made the trek up here in one piece surprisingly.

    wfsj 058

    Gerard’s MR2 on gold VS-XX.

    wfsj 059

This Passat looks like the type of car to go on an adventure with.

    wfsj 061

One my favorite Lotus’s, I absolutely love seeing this car.

    wfsj 062

Not sure why there was so much space left over at the show, kinda sucks the vendor area had to be so cramped.

    wfsj 064

SSR MS3 look real good tucked on this G35.

    wfsj 065

Platinum VIP always bringing out the classic VIP cars out.

    wfsj 143

    wfsj 067

I heard there’s a lot of jobs out there for design.

    wfsj 089

Another car that needs space for attendees to enjoy.

    wfsj 091

8th generation Mugen RR Civic rocking the new CCW D110.

    wfsj 093

Surprised to see non imports and more old school classic cars at Wekfest. Definitely a good change of pace from all the imports.

    wfsj 095

Another FD2 converted Civic on CCWs.

    wfsj 096

John Fob’s GTR needs to be one color.

    wfsj 097

This all motor H series EK looks pretty gnarly. It probably had the most space to demonstrate the craziness of this build.

    wfsj 098

Everybody be rocking SSR or CCWs at this show.

    wfsj 099

When you think you have a bad ass car then you see this car and it makes you feel like shit.

Elissa Alva’s booth busy as always.

    wfsj 156

Why is it every time I ask these guys if they want a photo together Jimmy goes in for a kiss?

    wfsj 160

     Nimo got jealous…

    wfsj 166

Congrats to Keith for winning Best IS of the festival!

    wfsj 169

The crew coming home with three trophies. Thanks Wekfest and Pure VIP for the awards! We go to car shows not for the awards, but to show the world what our cars look like outside of social media and mostly to interact with people who enjoy cars.

    wfsj 193

I wanted to get photos of the show cars in a natural habitat like on the streets. Cars always look a thousand times better when they’re rolling. I joined the many car show attendees outside of the venue to watch everyone roll out.

Well I hoped you enjoyed this coverage and there are always more photos in the gallery. Thank you to Wekfest for allowing us to be at the show and thank you to everyone who came by to support us. Sadly, I think this will be the last time we’ll be at the Norcal Wekfest event. The cost and stress of everything doesn’t seem worth it. We will still be a big supporter of Wekfest and attend the local events.  Thank you for reading!

    SEMA 2013

I’m here with another late post for you guys. With the emerging increase of stance sites, car blogs and whatever; it’s hard to compete on getting  first coverage on to the internet. So. I end up just posting coverage whenever I feel like it. SEMA was not as exciting this year for me because all the cars I wanted to see were already on the internet a week before the show. I get over something really quick if I constantly see it on my social media news feed especially if I’m just spammed with it all day. Other than that I always enjoy going to a car show, seeing friends and getting inspiration for my own car builds.

    SEMA 001

Liberty Walk kitted BMW. The flat black makes it looks so sinister.

    SEMA 006

Really digging this blue on this Corvette.

    SEMA 012

Not a fan of pink cars, but on this RWB it looks pretty cool.

    SEMA 005

The Liberty Walk kitted GTR is my favorite car at SEMA. I would cut an arm off just to own this for a minute.

    SEMA 009

I can’t wait to see these cars modded and on the streets. I would get the side skirt to fit better in the rear and take off that bike rack. That shit is so 2009.

    SEMA 019

Buys GTR puts XXR’s on it.

    SEMA 014

New 2013 Civic SI with a wing. Not bad.

    SEMA 023

The star of the show at the Nitto booth was the Liberty Walk Ferrari 458.

    SEMA 024

Being able to cut up a $230,000 car, that is what dreams are made of.

    SEMA 022

Not for the faint of heart.

    SEMA 027

Rocket Bunny inspired spoiler? I want something like this for my SC.

    SEMA 029

Next to the Ferrari was a Rocket Bunny FRS with some fat ass Nitto tires.

    SEMA 030

Rocking the new version 2 of the Rocket Bunny kit.

    SEMA 032

ARK Genesis. I spy a Dynamic Vinyl sticker.

    SEMA 034

     Race car turned show car.

    SEMA 037

Lexus had a challenge for deviant art to design some crazy shit and I guess this design won. The front looks pretty cool, but the rears are kind of outrageous.

    SEMA 038

The matte black makes this Job Design kitted IS250 look cheap.

    SEMA 039

The ugliest thing at this show…

    SEMA 040

    Rotiform Porsche.

    SEMA 046

    Courtney’s 325I on Rotiform TMB’s with a GT wing.

    SEMA 048

Vinh and John learning how a transmission works.

    SEMA 049

It gave me an idea on what was wrong with my clutch on the SC.

    SEMA 050

A packed house even on the last day.

    SEMA 051

    That lowrider life style.

    SEMA 055

    Another photo bomb by Miguel..

    SEMA 058

The 1000 horse powered Odyssey. I’m already impressed that it’s stick shift and it’s on bags.

    SEMA 060

I bought a quick release from NRG. I couldn’t resist the black and gold.

    SEMA 061

    Race car VW.

    SEMA 062

That’s a crazy front lip haha.

    SEMA 064

    Deflates tire for max low.

    SEMA 074

The Ben Sopra GTR. I’m still in love with it.

    SEMA 066

    That paint is so immaculate..

    SEMA 067

Getting some ideas for the SC.

    SEMA 068

The school bus of my nightmares.

    SEMA 070

The 3D plastic printer thing. It can copy anything and turn it into a plastic molding.

    SEMA 069

An example and it’s pretty detailed and strong. I’m interested in what the possibilities on what they can do with this in the future.

    SEMA 072

More widebody love from Air lift.

    SEMA 078

    Sick satin red Gram Lights.

    SEMA 081

How did they even get this thing in here?

    SEMA 079

    This is so freaking boss..

    SEMA 094

One of the premier VIP builds at the show was from the President of Job Design’s LS460. High attention to detail can only can be found by Japanese tuning.

    SEMA 098

Elvis’s LS400 on the new step lipped Work VS-XX.

    SEMA 099

This lady was really digging his wheels. You know what they say about females who wear white pants..

    SEMA 100

A big attention grabber when he was leaving the show, seemed like he had paparazzi following him. #sofamous

    SEMA 102

    Robert’s internet famous FRS.

    SEMA 104

    SEMA 106

Girl owned FRS? She was breaking a couple of necks on the way out.

    SEMA 117

Damn that rear tuck on this FRS is pretty awesome.

    SEMA 118

    SEMA 129

LEDs on a lifted trucks and a loud ass horn seemed to be the trend this year.

    SEMA 133

    Brian from Rotiform cruising out.

    SEMA 136

    SEMA 152

You know nothing about this rear tuck.

    SEMA 153

    SEMA 156

    SEMA 162

    SEMA 166

The only person who was scraping exiting the show.

    SEMA 170

I wonder if you’ll still be there next year.

    SEMA 177

That moment when you realize you’re staring at a million dollars.

    SEMA 174

Big body Lexuses are my favorite..

    SEMA 175

That’s it for my coverage of SEMA. Maybe next year I’ll go for the whole week instead of just Friday and get more detailed coverage, but it’ll probably take me another year to post it.
