GMG Racing Open House | Event Coverage

GMG Racing open house is one of the best local events in Orange County, we get to see a crazy amount of super cars at this event and be in presence of cars that would probably cost two of your lifetimes to afford. The morning of the event I met up with Phat and Ashton for breakfast.

  • Cruising With The Meat

    Cruising With The Meat

A couple of weeks ago; our friends from Lowballers Japan paid California a visit. It was great to show them around and give them a taste of our daily Hoodrat American shenanigans. The night before they were to fly back home to the land of the rising sun we did our best to organize a meet to end their trip to California with an awesome memory. Blasted on mediums of social media the meet had an awesome turnout. Cars from all over showed up and the parking lots went bonkers. What started as a meet turn into a cruise. Explanation to follow…

    348BIPPU

The planned location was at the Best Buy parking lot at the Tustin Marketplace on the border of Irvine and Tustin. Although it was “scheduled” to start at 9PM, I showed up to the parking lot at 8:30  to find rows of cars already lined up and people already mingling. Cars continued to fill the lot and the parking lot got filled quick. Around 9:15 Tustin PD showed up and kicked us out. I guess there was just too many awesome cars for them to handle. Word spread quick that the next spot to meet was the Petsmart parking lot at The District down the street.

349I’m not a fan of the trending crazy-sporty-VIP style, but i love the attention to detail that people put into these builds

354Christ Foreman – Back into hover mode after his drift day

356Every time I see this car, I lose my mind. It’s static, it gets driven, it’s awesome

Word had traveled quick as everyone was forced to leave the Tustin Marketplace. The next spot was the Petsmart parking lot at The District. Like a scene from The Fast and The Furious almost everyone rolled up and bombed down Jamboree. Oil pans scraped and cars screamed at wide open throttle to the next spot. Once everyone had reconvened at the second location, people continued to hang out but eventually Tustin PD showed up once again and escorted us all out. On to spot number 3.

  • Japan | Rest Stop Parking Lot Meet

Japan | Rest Stop Parking Lot Meet

Before our arrival to Japan, I posted on our social media outlets that Royal Origin was going to be in Japan. Abbitt tagged one of his friends, Zee in the post and Zee was kind enough to offer to show us around. We became facebook friends because you know you’re not friends in real life if you’re not friends on facebook. The first day of our arrival, Zee found out that there was going to be a rest stop meet and immediately hit us up to go. If there are cool cars, Royal Origin will be there..

    001

First time being in a right hand drive car none the less a R33 GTR.

    003

As soon as we arrived we were smacked with Japan’s crazy styling with this S13 from Team Frees.

    004

These Chasers are like Camrys to us in the U.S. but it’s super cool to a foreigner like me.

    006

Some crazy fitment on this Chaser from Team Lowbrain. It’s awesome how they drift at this stance too!

    019

    Right on the rim.

    024

    Beautiful SSR MS1R.

    007

    008

    011

    TSX imported from Vegas.

    029

The TSX was rocking some Volk LE37s.

    015

S14 rolling up to the meet up spot.

    016

    Some interesting DUB stylish cars.

    017

    The S14 from earlier.

    018

    Some Lowbrain booty.

    021

Sick interior setup with a katana e-brake and train handle bars as “oh shit handle bars”.

    023

    Sick designs on the hood.

    026

    027

Randomly saw Teru at the meet. I met him at the Illest OC grand opening and it was a big surprise to see him here.

    028

Sick ass Verossa just arriving at the meet.

    035

We need these instead of Camrys in the U.S.

    069

    030

My favorite thing about the Japanese drift teams is that they all have matching paint color.

    031

Teru’s Sunny. It was cool to see it in person after watching his video.

    032

    Zee’s R33.

    033

Interesting compact van, there were a bunch of these through out our travels.

    034

This is what i wanted to see in Japan the most. S15s all day.

    037

Some guy drifting in the other parking lot.

    038

This sight wasn’t too unfamiliar. It felt like home when Royal Origin would get together at Tastea or something.

    040

Checking out what’s under the hood of Teru’s Sunny.

    060

Showing off the heart of the car.

    045

    046

Love this glitter paint job, it was only noticeable up close.

New friends Chris who is from SoCal too and Jon who owns the yellow Verossa.

    073

    Custom fitted Rocket Bunny spoiler.

    075

    080

Getting to hear the Verossa and S15 at wide open throttle through this tunnel made my night.

    083

It’s crazy how much it costs to drive on the freeway here. It’s like 10-15 bucks every stop! These guys have dedication.

    085

Pit stop at Family Mart. Thanks Zee for taking us to the meet and giving us some tips about traveling in Japan.

  • Thursty Thursday | The Thirst is Fucking Real

Thursty Thursday | The Thirst is Fucking Real

Lately, there have been some thirstyass people on the internet, so we decided to throw a meet that would quench their thirst. We didn’t want it to be a big meet, so we didn’t promote it until the day of. We were hoping that the lot wouldn’t be too overflowed with cars like the last time we held the meet here, and got kicked out.

    IMG_6810

The crowd was pretty big that day, even for a meet that was promoted only 18 hours ago.

    IMG_6824

In the city of Westminster, you will see a lot of Lexuses and once in a while, it’ll be VIPed out.

    IMG_6809

My favorite part of any meet is when the cars roll in. Driving through a crowd, breaking necks, and finding the best parking is always fun to me.

    IMG_6823

The search for good parking seemed impossible. It took a lot of patience and clever maneuvering.

    IMG_6821

    Nicely fitted Civic on RPF1’s.

    IMG_6818

Pretty ridiculous camber in the rear on this Civic.

    IMG_6882

Cruising out. Thanks for swinging by!
