Exploring Shinsaibashi | RO Explore

Japan is such an interesting country, there’s so much to do and travelling without a car is so easy. Our hotel was right in the middle of the city and walking distance to Shinsaibashi, so it became a ritual of ours to go to Shinsaibashi for all of our meals. Today, I’ll be showing you some of the stuff you can do that is walking distance from Shinsaibashi station.

Shinsaibashi is filled with Chinese tourists and is always busy during the day.

We visited a dog cafe where you can hang out with little dogs and get some coffee.

Sara and Amy are avid dog lovers and could not get over all of the cuteness.

People come to these things to relieve some stress mostly, pretty neat.

Osaka Hangs | RO in Japan

The first morning in Japan was an early one for me. My hotel was 40 minutes away from the airport and I had to be there at 6:00 AM for the flight at 7:30 AM. After a long taxi ride to meet Sara and Amy and being at the wrong terminal we were finally on our way to Osaka. Thank you to Japan’s airport system for getting us on our flight on time. They have a express line for people whose flights are in 40 minutes or less, so you don’t have to go through the long check in line.

See ya Tokyo.

After a hour flight, Ty picked us up from the airport to go eat at Umeda station. Sara and Amy looking awfully happy to finally be where we’re suppose to be.

We went to the Pokemon Center, so Sara can nerd out.

Later that night we met up with the J Spirit crew who just flew in, Osaka JDM, AP Garage and so many more for some exotic fish. Reunited with this E36 that I saw on my last trip to Osaka.

Anywhere we go, we always seem to be hanging out in parking lots.

And everywhere we go, Sara is always modeling.

Delayed Arrival | Random Adventures

This is the first post of many of my trip to Osaka with the United Royals crew. We start the early morning with me Sara and Amy at SFO waiting for our flight to Osaka.

Our flight was delayed three hours, so we decided to get lunch at the airport. Getting sushi was a tease to what we will be eating in Japan.

Haters can’t touch them, these sunglasses are Gucci.

After waiting the 3 hours, United Airlines cancelled our flight and we had to reschedule to a 7pm flight, which would be 7 hours later…. So, I hit up Clinton and he happened to have a free day after class. We decided we would make use of this 7 hour delay and hang in SF.

Baeton took us to New England Lobster Market for some lobster rolls.

More good news! United Airlines flight that we had at 7PM also got cancelled and the next flight out would be in 2 days. We hurried back to SFO to see what United could do for us and the only way to get to Japan on time was to take a flight to Tokyo and stay there for a night then catch another flight down to Osaka… And that’s what we did.

10 hours later… We were in Tokyo after 2 delays and 2 cancelled flights. We arrived at 10pm and Sara had Hiroki pick us up from Haneda airport for dinner.

First thing that was bought, Calpis Soda.

We couldn’t decide on what to eat, so we ended up getting McDonalds.

Only thing cool about McDonald’s here is that everything comes with an egg.

Impossible to make McDonald’s sexy.

Across the street was a 711 and we had to get our convenience store fix. Check out all of the delicious JDM candy.

Got back to our hotel and I decided to try take some bokeh self portrait shots. Did not come out like I expected..

Tokyo is so beautiful and we’re not even near the major cities.

Thanks Clinton and Hiroki for taking us around! It was an eventful journey to Japan and I’m glad we made it despite all the problems. Check back tomorrow for some more Japan adventures!

Ice Cream Dates with Sara Choi | HOODRATstuff

It’s great that I’m friends with a lot of creative people like my friends Celso Nimo and Vu Pham. They’re both cinematographers and designers with a good eye for visuals. Tonight, we planned a shoot with Sara Choi and even though we came into this with no plans we ended up with a pretty cool shoot and video.

Can’t shoot with an empty stomach! I decided to take them to my new Thai spot to try some raw shrimp.

Testing out some IPhone camera hacks like putting a drop of water on your lens to get some cool macro shots.

The Big Day | Enjoy Sin

The big day was here, all the planning we’ve been doing for the past three months has led to this day. Even if the event wasn’t going to be successful, we were just happy to reunite with our friends in Vegas. It’s been a long time since those days we use to take turns on who visited who each weekend and that was the honeymoon stage of our friendship. Even though the honeymoon phase is over, we still have mad love for each other.

We spent most of the morning getting over our hangovers and trying to get a quick power nap before the meet. That is why we like our car meets late in the afternoon. Check out the crew in all black everything, Jeff didn’t get the memo.

Slopps is always in Vegas like he has a DJ residency at a club, so we weren’t surprised to see he took the trip from SOCAL to the meet.

Throughout the meet, we were on the prowl to interview people about the meet and other random things.

This time of the year is always the time where I stress the most and have the craziest anxiety attacks. This year however has been the least stressed for me with so much help this year, this meet went smoothly without me having to stress too much. Thank you to Kevin and HNRS for planning this collab, Shavi for working everything, VU with the coverage and giving us amazing IG videos, Nimo for taking care of us and giving us fun moments, Aron for all of the help, I notice all the small things you do for us and I’m truly grateful for it. Food Truck Meets | Food Adventures

On today’s food adventures, we took out your woman crush Wednesdays, Sara and Hayle to eat some delicious wieners.

Dogzilla one of my favorite food trucks of all time. I’ve been eating here since 2010 when they would be stationed in front of Sam Ash on Beach blvd. Crazy how fast time passes, but their food is still amazing.

I got the pillager pulled pork. The center was flavorful, but the bun was over bearing and dry. It made it hard to consume after a while and I just ended up eating the center only.

Vinh got the captain porko fries which was the better option among our two orders. They really mastered slow smoked pork here at Porko Rico BBQ.

Last on the list was Meow Meow Cafe, we’ve been here a couple times in the past and it was amazing, but I heard from Alyssa who lives down the street that this place changed ownership and is not as great anymore. Well, she was right…

Anyways, it was cool to put our phones down and just update each other on our lives.

If you know how we are, we like to do everything last minute for some fucking reason. We had this meet for my friend Tai from Hectopascal and Sara who I don’t really know. It was a pretty decent turn out for a meet that was promoted four hours before hand.

The Chronicles Year Six

Seems like not long ago I was writing a post for Joey’s anniversary for his website, The Chronicles. Crazy how fast time passes and now we’re almost at the end of the year waiting for the next season of Formula Drift and car show season. Good thing there are events like Joey’s Year Six and SEMA to fill the void during the winter season.

Early morning, we met up in Anaheim hills the birth place of the red unicorn.

The Chronicles is well known for covering mostly Honda content, so the VIP parking area was filled with sick Hondas like this EF sedan and Civic Hatch.

There were still some cool non-Honda cars at the event like Amir’s 911.

Sang from Project Zero’s J’s Racing S2000 drove all the way from San Diego for this meet.

More crazy S2000s from Project Zero like this slammed Berlina Black S2000 that is also right hand drive!

Hiding among the herd of Project Zero S2000s is Jamie’s Impreza Wagon.

Always nice to see this Project Zero Amuse S2000.

Low problems, they had to hold his bumper up just so he can reverse without ripping off his bumper.
