Wekfest Prep at Greddy Racing | Daily Life

These days it’s rare that you will catch us preparing for a car show with the balance of adulting and trying to stay alive in this economy, none of us ever have time to get a car ready for a show. Luckily for us we can live vicariously through Kevin’s new Honda Civic EK build. Kevin’s been putting this baby together since the beginning of the year and building his EG from the ground up. Stripped the car completely, got major body work done and swaped almost ever single piece of the car out that was welded to the car itself.

We were able to swing by to catch the Greddy Team fitting his new B16 motor in along with the shiny new toys.

Check and double check to figure out clearance for the intake.

Coming to a Wekfest near you..

The cool thing about swinging by Greddy is we get a glimpse of the show winning cars they build before it gets the Greddy touch. This RX-7 is getting build for Kei Muira of Rocket Bunny for SEMA. I can’t wait to see what they do to it!

Some very nice cars out in the parking lot.

We had OC Tan in the house, looking pretty so Kevin could feel more relaxed when something doesn’t go right with the EK.

Meanwhile at home… some one buy me already!

Greddy Garage Sale | Event Coverage

Garage sales are always fun to check out because you never know what kind of treasures you’re going to find for cheap. Greddy had a garage sale for the ages with turbos to Rocket Bunny body kits for sale on the low. This was every car tuners dream especially if you owned a FRS because Greddy had a truck full of spare FRS parts because of their two race cars. We were invited to check out a preview of what they were going to have for sale and put some things on hold if we wanted.

While exploring all the cool car parts and accessories at the sale, it got us thinking—what’s the point of scoring all these treasures if your garage isn’t up to par? A solid, reliable garage door is a must-have for car enthusiasts, ensuring your prized possessions stay safe and sound.

Speaking of garage doors, one issue that often sneaks up on homeowners is when the door starts opening on its own. It might seem like a small nuisance at first, but it could indicate bigger problems, like interference, faulty wiring, or worn-out components.

If you’ve ever noticed this happening, it’s worth digging deeper. For more info here, check out this blog post that dives into the reasons behind a garage door behaving erratically and how to address it. After all, just like your car needs a fine-tuned engine to perform at its best, your garage door deserves the same level of care to ensure it operates smoothly and keeps everything inside secure.

If your garage door has started acting up, especially if it’s opening on its own, the issue might be with the opener. The opener is the heart of the garage door system, and when it starts to malfunction, you’ll notice more than just a few odd openings. Worn-out parts, outdated technology, or simple interference can lead to misbehaving doors, and that’s where professional help comes in. Garage Door Repair Tempe offers specialized opener repair services that can quickly diagnose the problem, replace any faulty components, and get your door back to functioning like new.

Ignoring issues with your opener can lead to further damage, potentially costing more in the long run. Whether the problem is a sensor issue, electrical interference, or a malfunctioning motor, it’s essential to address it as soon as possible. A reliable garage door opener isn’t just about convenience—it’s about ensuring the safety of your property and the protection of your vehicle. With the right repair service, your garage door will run smoothly, and you won’t have to worry about unexpected openings or other disruptions.

Good job to Kevin for working on this build in such a short amount of time. Many late nights went into this, and there are many more nights to come, especially with the next phase of the build being a 2JZ-GTE build. Also, congratulations for getting 2nd place best BMW at Wekfest San Jose 2016.

  • SUBIE SUBIE VROOM

    SUBIE SUBIE VROOM

Today was planned out like any other Wednesday. Head off to school bright and early in the morning, meet up with Bonnie after school to grab a bite to eat, and then head off to Disneyland, but today involved a different turn of events. Bonnie had work at 5P.M. today, so we decided to cancel our Disneyland trip and do something else instead. We gave my good friend Dennis a visit at his work place. Dennis works at Performance Nissan in the City of Industry. We met about a year ago through Team Supastar. From that point on, we became really good friends.

Dennis drives a 2002 Subaru WRX. He recently told me that he purchased a new set of wheels for his car, so I got really excited after hearing that. Dennis has gone through many different sets of wheels, from ROTAS to ADVANS to WORKS. This time around, Dennis went with SSR and to be more specific, he purchased  a set of SSR GPO’S. Now, I know what everyone is thinking, “WHERE IN THE WORLD DID HE FIND A SQUARE SETUP OF THAT TYPE OF WHEEL?!” Wrong!! Dennis decided to go outside of the box and run a staggered set of wheels on his All Wheel Drive Subie. Now, all of you are probably thinking, “OHH MAN, HE IS GOING TO FUCK UP HIS TRANNY!” Wrong again!!! Dennis has everything planned out. He is going to make his staggered setup run perfectly fine on his Subaru. We’re all going to take a real quick Subie lesson. So, what destroys the transmission on a Subie when running a staggered setup is tire sizing. One tire ends up spinning earlier than the other because of the difference in diameter sizing. So what Dennis has planned is to carefully calculate the correct tire size so that all four wheels have the exact same diameter for all four wheels to spin at the exact same time. Just in case that plan fails and somehow ends up ruining his transmission, Dennis still has another plan up his sleeve. He has an extra transmission laying around at home, so if his current one breaks, he is ready to replace it with a new one. The plan doesn’t stop there. If Dennis’ transmission decides to break, he is already planning to do a Rear Wheel Drive conversion with the other transmission, so his staggered setup will definitely work on the car.

Now that everyone knows a little something about Dennis and his car, we can move on to the pictures.
